Implementing social security work well not only contributes to stabilizing people's lives but also creates a solid foundation for localities to develop comprehensively and sustainably.

For a better life

Over the years, taking care of policy beneficiaries and the disadvantaged is no longer the responsibility of one person but has become a regular task of the whole community. From the government to the people, everyone contributes with the desire "No one is left behind".

Living in a dilapidated house for so long, every time it rains, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xe (Quyet Thang 1 quarter, Tan Khanh ward, Tan An city, Long An province) can only hide in a corner of the house, praying that the house will not collapse. The dream of a new house seems too luxurious for her, but thanks to the support, Ms. Xe has a solid house. "I am very happy to have a new, solid house. Thank you for the attention and support of the local government and benefactors!" - Ms. Xe happily said.

Like Ms. Xe, many people in difficult circumstances have recently received attention and support from authorities at all levels, philanthropists and the community. In 2024, from the "For the Poor" Fund, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province supported the construction and repair of 356 Great Solidarity houses with a total amount of more than 20.7 billion VND.

Responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province actively coordinated to review and count the number of households with temporary and dilapidated houses in need of housing support to effectively implement the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister . From social mobilization sources, in the first quarter of 2025, the whole province built and repaired 107 houses with a total cost of more than 8.2 billion VND.

Caring for policy beneficiaries and the disadvantaged is no longer the responsibility of one person but has become a regular task for the whole community.

Not only helping people gradually "settle down and have a career", every year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels connects and spreads kindness to the poor through meaningful activities such as visiting, giving gifts; free medical examination and treatment; giving health insurance cards; awarding scholarships to students; supporting production means, plants, and breeds;... with tens of billions of VND.

Particularly on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels organized many activities to care for the poor, near-poor, policy families, and people in remote and isolated areas, with a total value of more than 2.6 billion VND. Thereby, contributing to comprehensive and practical social security care, creating a foundation to enhance people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State.

"Bridge" of joy

Tan Thanh district focuses on investing in rural traffic infrastructure associated with social security work.

Late afternoon, the sun spreads golden light on the water surface of the canal along Tan Hoa commune, Tan Thanh district. Several children happily run back and forth on the newly inaugurated concrete bridge. Life here has gradually changed, people no longer worry when it rains or storms, travel has now become safer and more convenient.

Mr. Vo Van Nhiem (Tay Bac hamlet, Tan Hoa commune) smiled brightly: “From now on, it is much easier to transport rice and goods to the market. Children can go to school with peace of mind, without worrying about falling like before. The dream of many years has finally come true. I really don't know how to express this joy!”. Not only Mr. Nhiem, hundreds of households in communes and towns in the district expressed their joy when their hometown changes every day. Thanks to the synchronous coordination of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, since the beginning of 2024, a series of civil works have been completed and put into use.

According to the statistical report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district, from the beginning of 2024 to now, the district has mobilized more than 14.8 billion VND to invest in building rural infrastructure. A typical example is the model of One project per residential area implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in 70/70 hamlets and neighborhoods with a total cost of nearly 9.8 billion VND. In particular, the completion of 6 traffic bridges has solved many bottlenecks, making travel, transporting goods, accessing schools and medical stations more convenient and safe.

In addition, the district also concreted many rural roads, built a wastewater system, implemented a model of Security and Order Lighting using solar-powered lamps attached to a model national flagpole; upgraded the dyke, planted flowers, trees,... all of which brought new vitality to the land of Tan Thanh.

At the same time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the district coordinated to mobilize more than 14.1 billion VND to care for the poor, policy families, and the disadvantaged. Accordingly, more than 80 Great Solidarity houses and 9,300 gifts were given to the less fortunate. The district also supported medical examination and treatment, issued health insurance cards, and helped students in difficult circumstances continue to go to school; at the same time, did not forget to share love with the people in the North affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi).

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Thanh District - Vo Minh Duong informed: “Social security work, caring for the poor, policy families and building rural infrastructure are the top priorities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the district. We always proactively coordinate closely with the government, member organizations and the Vietnam Fatherland Front of communes and towns to implement synchronously and effectively. Thanks to that, people's lives are increasingly stable, rural infrastructure is significantly improved, contributing significantly to the implementation of socio-economic development targets, maintaining national defense - security and successfully building a new rural district".

Mobilizing resources to care for people

Can Duoc district does a good job of socializing and taking care of people.

Along with economic development, Can Duoc district always focuses on implementing social security policies well, ensuring that people's lives are increasingly improved. Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district - Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong informed: "With the spirit of not leaving anyone behind, the district actively promotes socialization of social security activities, mobilizing the participation of the whole society to better care for the material and spiritual life of the people, especially policy beneficiaries, meritorious people, poor and near-poor households and people in difficult circumstances. This is not only a clear manifestation of the sense of responsibility but also affirms the determination to build a locality with harmonious development between economy and society".

By maximizing all resources from the state budget, enterprises, social organizations and the community's cooperation, the district has effectively implemented many social security programs. In 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district mobilized nearly 1.8 billion VND from the "For the Poor" Fund.

From the mobilized funds, 11 new Great Solidarity houses worth 880 million VND were built, 14 houses worth 385 million VND were repaired; 38 households were helped to develop production with 195 million VND and many other support activities. In addition, many sustainable livelihood models helping people escape poverty were maintained and brought positive results.

From the beginning of 2025 until now, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district has continued to maintain the project to support poor and near-poor households to borrow capital to develop their family economy; organized housing surveys for poor and near-poor households to build 8 Great Unity houses, of which 4 were repaired and 4 were newly built. In particular, it has mobilized philanthropists to donate 19,150 gifts to poor and near-poor households, worth 9.391 billion VND on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

“Over the years, my family has always received meaningful gifts from philanthropists. This is the attention of the authorities and philanthropists, and that gives me hope to strive to rise up and not accept my circumstances,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Be (My Le commune, Can Duoc district).

It can be seen that the bright spots in social security work of localities not only contribute to stabilizing people's lives but also create a solid foundation for comprehensive and sustainable development. Social security is not simply a support policy but also a manifestation of the spirit of humanity, responsibility and solidarity between the Party, the government and the people. From effective models, practical actions have been and are lighting up trust, spreading warmth in the community, towards a fair, progressive and civilized society./.
