(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Located at a crucial intersection of the Nhon - Hanoi railway line, Cau Giay S8 station has more entrances and elevators than other stations, ensuring convenient and safe travel for passengers.

On the morning of August 28th, the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) - the investor of the Nhon - Hanoi Station railway line - announced that the construction unit had completed the construction and installation of systems and equipment at 8 elevated stations of the line. Among them, the S8 Cau Giay station is the most special in the system as it serves as a transfer station.

According to the investor's representative, the elevated stations are located on the road median strip and are supported by 572 U-shaped reinforced concrete beams to minimize impact on visibility, reduce noise, and optimize weight. For the S8 Cau Giay station, the investor has utilized the space to design a pedestrian bridge for people to cross the road.

In terms of design, the elevated stations have an overall shape resembling a dove of peace . Surrounding the stations is a carpet of greenery, planted and watered automatically. Bougainvillea was chosen because it is well-suited to Hanoi's climate and blooms profusely.

Compared to other stations, the S8 Cau Giay station has a more extensive connection system with 8 staircases to ensure convenient and safe travel for passengers in all situations. There are elevators on both sides for the elderly and disabled, escalators for children and passengers, and 4 staircases around the station.

At station S8, the unit has installed all the necessary equipment to ensure the smooth operation of ticket sales and refunds for passengers, including: automatic ticket vending machines, gate systems, ticket vending machines in the ticket office, card generation machines, handheld ticket checking devices, etc. Passengers can purchase paper tickets with cash or use prepaid cards to scan directly.

The ticketing system is designed according to European standards. With the automated ticketing system, passengers can purchase various types of cards/tickets at any station along the line. Passengers will then pass through the control gate, which is operated by an automated control system.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thi, Head Representative for Phase 1 of the Nhon - Hanoi Station project, said that the operation of the travel card system for the Nhon - Hanoi Station line is expected to be integrated with all other elevated railway lines in the future.

The unique feature of this type of ticket is that it operates like an electronic wallet. People can choose to have money added to the ticket for travel. When not in use, they can still redeem the money back into their bank account.

Most of the components of the S8 Cau Giay station have been inspected and approved for fire safety.

The official names of the stations are based on the geographical locations the line passes through, including: Nhổn, Minh Khai, Phú Diễn, Cầu Diễn, Lê Đức Thọ, National University, Chùa Hà, and Cầu Giấy.

Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB), said that the entire bidding package for phase 1 of the Nhon - Hanoi Station line, from station 1 to station 8, has been completed to 99.7%. All component bidding packages of this project have also been completed to over 99%.

In the final stage, the unit is conducting testing and inspection of the ticketing system, the station's technical systems, and the entire train operation. The pilot urban railway line from Nhon to Hanoi Station, which commenced in September 2010 and was expected to be completed in 2016, has a length of 12.5km, including 8.5km elevated and 4km underground. However, after nearly 13 years of construction, this railway line has yet to be put into commercial operation. The total investment for the project has increased from 18,000 billion VND to over 34,000 billion VND.
