On the afternoon of December 14th, at the Huamark Arena (Bangkok, Thailand), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team played their semi-final match at the 33rd SEA Games against the Philippines.
To qualify for the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team demonstrated overwhelming strength by winning all their group stage matches, defeating Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia with the same 3-0 scoreline.

This is the fourth time the two teams have met in 2025, and in the three previous encounters, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team emerged victorious.

Right from the first set, the Vietnamese women's team's attackers, such as Thanh Thúy, Kiều Trinh, and Nguyễn Uyên, took turns scoring points, helping the team quickly establish a dominant position.

Captain Thanh Thúy's powerful spikes were almost unstoppable, while Như Quỳnh also shone with two consecutive aces, helping the Vietnamese team widen the gap.

Towards the end of set 1, the momentum completely shifted in favor of Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team as their blocking played solidly, shutting down the opponent's attacks, thereby scoring points continuously and closing out the set with a convincing 25-17 victory.

Similar to set 1, the Vietnamese and Philippine women's volleyball teams created a back-and-forth battle in the early points of set 2.

Once the psychological barriers were removed, Vietnam's attackers performed brilliantly, with not only Thanh Thúy and Như Quỳnh but also Kiều Trinh and Bích Thủy consistently making their mark.

The Philippines were unable to pose much of a challenge to the superior strength of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. With key players like Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh all in top form, the Vietnamese team easily closed out the third set with a 25-17 victory, securing a 3-0 overall win.

Thus, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has achieved its goal by qualifying for the SEA Games 33 final.

The entire team displayed an extremely impressive performance with 4 consecutive wins, not losing a single set on their way to the final match.

The large number of Vietnamese fans in the stands continuously cheered and enthusiastically supported the players, boosting their morale and motivation.

In the SEA Games 33 women's volleyball final, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will face the winner of the match between Thailand and Indonesia.

This marks the 12th time in history that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has reached the SEA Games final, and the fourth consecutive time. In previous appearances in the final, the Vietnamese team lost to Thailand and won the silver medal.
