On the morning of November 17th, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province; Mr. Bui Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, inspected the site and directed efforts to mitigate landslides on Prenn Pass, one of the main gateway routes to and from Da Lat.
At the scene, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, Ho Van Muoi, emphasized that this was a serious landslide along a long stretch of road, posing many potential dangers.


To ensure safety, police forces were instructed to temporarily halt traffic through the landslide section on Prenn Pass.


During the temporary suspension of traffic through Prenn Pass for assessment and remedial measures, relevant units organized guidance for residents, tourists, and vehicles to choose alternative routes to reach the central wards of Da Lat.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently declare a state of emergency due to natural disaster for this section of the road.

As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, earlier that morning, a landslide occurred on the Prenn Pass road, near the Datanla bridge, affecting the retaining wall and causing half of the roadbed in the direction from Da Lat downwards to collapse .


Upon receiving the information, the Lam Dong Department of Construction, in coordination with the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, and other relevant units, implemented traffic diversion measures to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.


The Prenn Pass road was upgraded, expanded, and put into use in 2024. The road is 7.4km long, with a total investment of 553 billion VND, from the local budget.
The project is invested by the Lam Dong Provincial Transport Project Management Board, and the Deo Ca consortium is the construction contractor.

After upgrading and expanding , Prenn Pass now has a road width of 14.5m, with 4 lanes for cars. Prenn Pass is considered one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Vietnam, with romantic curves winding through pine forests.



The routes that allow travel to and from the central wards of Da Lat include: From the Lien Khuong-Prenn Expressway via the Sacom-Tuyen Lam route to Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat; from the Lien Khuong-Prenn Expressway via Mimosa Pass to Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat; and from the Lien Khuong intersection to Ta Nung Pass to Cam Ly ward, Da Lat.
