The stilt house in the Presidential Palace historical site is a must-see attraction for locals and international tourists alike during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).

Ho Chi Minh's stilt house is a two-story wooden structure with a tiled roof, built in 1958. The house has an architectural style reminiscent of the stilt houses of the Tay and Thai ethnic groups in Northern Vietnam. The structure is 10.5 meters long, 6.2 meters wide, and two stories high.

Before the design process began, President Ho Chi Minh had a very thorough discussion with architect Nguyen Van Ninh about his wishes for the house. He wanted a stilt house similar to the one he had lived in in Viet Bac; a spacious first floor, a second floor with two rooms, a partition between the two rooms used as a bookshelf, and a corridor surrounding them.

The stilt house was where President Ho Chi Minh lived the longest and also spent his final years, and it is associated with many important events in the country's history. It is both an architectural and cultural heritage, containing immense spiritual value.

In front of the house was a pond where President Ho Chi Minh often fed the fish and relaxed; whenever he clapped his hands, the fish would swim towards him.

The lower floor of the stilt house was left empty; it was where President Ho Chi Minh often worked during the summer, and also where he and the Politburo met to discuss and decide on many important national issues. This was also where he received guests.

The upper floor has two rooms, a study and a bedroom.

President Ho Chi Minh's stilt house is an important part of the Presidential Palace complex, which was recognized as a Special National Monument by a decision signed by the Prime Minister in 2009.

From 1970 to the present, the historical site has served and welcomed more than 80 million visitors, including international tourists from over 160 countries and territories around the world .

Surrounding the stilt house is a lush green garden with many types of trees brought from all over the country and planted here.

President Ho Chi Minh's stilt house is a simple structure that clearly reflects his character and soul; a building rich in traditional identity, close to and in harmony with nature.
