According to a statement from the Austrian Interior Ministry on November 6, a suitcase of weapons was seized and a suspect was arrested in an operation by the Austrian State Security and Intelligence Service (DSN), targeting "a global terrorist organization linked to Hamas." The weapons were found in a suitcase in a rented storage room in Vienna.

The British side announced that the suspect related to the above weapons was arrested in London on November 3. The suspect, Mohammed A., 39 years old, British nationality, will have to appear at Westminster Court next week.

German prosecutors said Mohammed A. had two meetings with Abdel Al G., who was arrested in Germany last month on charges of plotting attacks on Jewish or Israeli institutions on German soil.

Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said the operation showed "the DSN's international cooperation network", strongly demonstrating its mission of "zero tolerance for terrorism".

The Hamas militant group has yet to respond to this information. Previously, the organization declared that the accusations of Abdel Al G. having links with them were "baseless".

Hamas has been accused of carrying out hundreds of attacks on Israeli civilians over the years, but rarely operates outside Israel and the Palestinian territories.
