Import and export activities at Vung Ang port

Mr. Dao Chi Thanh - Head of Vung Ang Port Customs Branch said: "After the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, import-export enterprises in the area continue to face many difficulties when the market is unstable. In particular, the steel market has always had fluctuating prices, causing many difficulties in the production and business activities of Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited".

According to the construction plan from the beginning of the year, Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited is expected to pay import and export taxes of more than 9,000 billion VND in 2023. However, up to now, this enterprise has only paid more than 4,600 billion VND.

It is estimated that in 2023, Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited will pay import and export taxes of more than VND 6,300 billion (reaching 70% of the company's estimate from the beginning of the year). The decrease in revenue from Formosa directly affects the completion of the target of the Vung Ang Port Customs Branch.
