A serious landslide blocking the road to Vung Ang port occurred at 8 a.m. on November 4 at Da Bon mountain, located next to the gate of Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company in residential group 2 Hai Phong, Vung Ang ward.
The landslide caused nearly 5,000 cubic meters of rock and large trees to fall, blocking the entire main road leading to Vung Ang port, causing traffic disruption and greatly affecting production and business activities for units in the port area.

Immediately after receiving the news, the authorities of Vung Ang ward quickly deployed response measures. On-site forces including Border Guards, local authorities and human resources of Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company were mobilized to the maximum along with machinery to urgently handle the situation.
Mr. Ho Sy Hung, Vice Chairman of Vung Ang Ward, said that upon receiving the information, the ward mobilized forces and functional units to mobilize machinery to clear the soil and rocks to ensure the safety of vehicles.
Previously, on November 1, a smaller landslide caused 100 cubic meters of earth and rock to fall and bury the road connecting Vung Ang Petroleum Joint Stock Company to the Vung Ang squid raft area.
Local authorities warned and advised individuals, businesses and residents in the area to be vigilant because many other nearby locations have seen cracks in hills and mountains, with the risk of further landslides as the rain continues to worsen.

Not only in Vung Ang ward, yesterday (November 3), in the farm area of Nam Thanh village, Cam Trung commune, a landslide occurred. The incident affected 3 farms, in which 1 house was completely damaged and collapsed, fortunately there was no loss of life. Ha Tinh province requires localities to have solutions to evacuate people in mountainous and riverside areas to safe places and put up warning signs at places at risk of landslides.
