The emergence of ChatGPT in late 2022 created a global sensation, ushering in an era of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in learning, work, and daily life.
Despite entering the race later than OpenAI, Google is proving that its latecomer strategy is on the right track with the launch of a series of groundbreaking AI products.
Among them, the three most prominent names recently are NotebookLM, Veo 3, and Gemini 2.5 Pro - tools that quickly gained attention and widespread use within the Vietnamese technology community.
NotebookLM - An expert learning and research assistant.
NotebookLM, introduced by Google, is a tool that helps users turn their own data into a personalized virtual assistant. Unlike general chatbots, it has the ability to remember context for each user, expanding to over 180 regions and supporting more than 50 languages across browsers. Many users have praised this tool for saving hours of document reading time.
Currently, NotebookLM supports four output formats: audio (Audio Overview), video (Video Overview), mind maps, and reports. These four formats appear in four separate boxes in the Studio control panel for easy user selection.
Beyond its basic functions, NotebookLM can also be applied in many specialized fields. For example, it can synthesize and analyze a series of research papers to identify trends or knowledge gaps.
This tool also assists writers and screenwriters in world- building, plot suggestions, or character consistency checks. In a business environment, NotebookLM also serves as a central hub for organizing and analyzing project documents, helping to optimize management processes.
According to Google, Vietnam is among the top 10 countries using NotebookLM the most in the world, along with India, Japan, South Korea, and others.
Veo 3 - AI-powered videos that win over content creators.
Veo 3, Google's next-generation video creation engine, can build clips from descriptive text or image input. With smooth image quality and natural motion, this tool has been used to create over 40 million videos since its launch in May 2025 and has expanded to over 150 countries.
From July 3rd, Google Veo 3 officially supports the Vietnamese market. When subscribing to the AI Pro package, users receive 1,000 AI credits monthly and can create up to 10 videos.
This product not only helps small-scale content creators reduce production costs but is also used in professional fields. Veo 3 can quickly create high-quality advertising videos with customizable aspect ratios. In the arts, it can create highly artistic short films with realistic physics, lighting, and shadows.
Although not the first AI video generator on the market, Veo 3 impresses with its ability to create audio (including dialogue, background music, and environmental sound effects), and notably, it supports Vietnamese. All videos created by Veo 3 will display an easily recognizable watermark and have an embedded hidden SynthID digital identifier, helping to identify the AI source of the content and increase transparency.
Gemini 2.5 Pro - The "trump card" in the smart chatbot race.
Gemini 2.5 Pro, the latest upgraded version in the Gemini line, is positioned by Google as a direct competitor to ChatGPT. Recently, Gemini has surpassed ChatGPT on the App Store in several countries, including Vietnam, thanks to its Nano Banana photo creation and editing tool.
Gemini's strength lies in its multi-media processing capabilities, handling not only text but also images, audio, and video. Currently, the Gemini app has approximately 450 million monthly active users.
Gemini 2.5 Pro is being utilized in many professional fields. This tool can generate source code for complex web applications or analyze and edit code, helping programmers work more efficiently.
In enterprise data analysis, Gemini can interpret complex statements and help build predictive models. Additionally, it's used to optimize workflows by summarizing emails and generating research documents.
The simultaneous launch of NotebookLM, Veo 3, and Gemini 2.5 Pro shows that Google is seeking to cover a wide range of needs: from learning and content creation to office work. The rapid popularity of these three tools in Vietnam demonstrates that domestic users are ready to embrace the global AI trend.
According to the World AI Index 2025 ranking by the Global Independent Market Research Network (WIN), Vietnam ranks 3rd in AI trust, 5th in AI acceptance, and 17th in AI practical use.
However, alongside the clear benefits, risks related to security, copyright, and misinformation still exist, posing challenges for managing and developing a legal framework for AI in the future.
