Bac Ninh Province unexpectedly commends the team that saved a critically ill patient.

SKĐS – On the afternoon of December 15th, at Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1, the Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health organized a conference to present Certificates of Commendation from the Director of the Department of Health to individuals who have achieved outstanding and exceptional results in emergency care and patient treatment.

Attending the conference were Mr. Dao Khac Hung – Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health ; representatives from the Personnel and Organization Department of the Provincial Department of Health; leaders of Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1, and the individuals who received awards.

At the conference, the Department of Health awarded Certificates of Commendation to four individuals from Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1, including: Mr. Nguyen Van Nam – Head of the Thoracic and Vascular Surgery Department; Mr. Pham Hong Phong – Head of the Surgery and Anesthesia-Resuscitation Department; Ms. Nguyen Thi La – Nurse in the Surgery and Anesthesia-Resuscitation Department; and Mr. Tran Anh Tuan – Administrative Staff. These individuals were members of the pre-hospital emergency team who successfully managed a particularly serious surgical complication case at Son Dong Medical Center.

Previously, on November 13, 2025, during a laparoscopic ureteral stone removal surgery for patient Pham Thi An (73 years old, residing in Duong Huu commune, Bac Ninh province), the surgical team at Son Dong Medical Center discovered damage to the abdominal aorta causing massive bleeding, threatening the patient's life. Son Dong Medical Center activated a red alert and requested urgent assistance from Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1.

Immediately after receiving the information, the hospital's emergency team quickly arrived, performed emergency surgery to repair the damaged major blood vessel, and transfused two units of blood to stabilize hemodynamics. After more than two hours of surgery, the emergency procedure was successful, the patient is out of danger, and their health is now stable.

At the conference, the Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Provincial Department of Health commended the sense of responsibility, professional competence, and timely and effective coordination among healthcare units. He emphasized the crucial role of coordination between lower and higher levels in emergency care and patient treatment, and expressed his hope that healthcare facilities in the province would continue to improve their professional quality to better meet the healthcare needs of the people.

Representing Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1, Dr. Hoang Chi Thanh, Deputy Director of the hospital, expressed gratitude for the timely attention and encouragement from the Department of Health and affirmed that this is a great source of motivation for the medical staff to continue striving to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.
