The fourth installment, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, continues the story of Bad Boys for Life (2020), when Inspector Mike Lowrey realizes that villain Armando (Jacob Scipio) is his long-lost son.

Meanwhile, Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano) is falsely accused of collaborating with drug gangs for many years. Police Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are forced to clear Howard's name and confront the mysterious boss, played by Eric Dane.
Like the previous films, the project maintains many suspenseful situations, with creatively integrated comedy. The film opens with Mike and Marcus weaving through busy streets to make it to Mike's wedding. However, Marcus suddenly wants to stop the car to buy ginger beer to relieve his stomachache. When entering the grocery store, the inspector is robbed by a gun to the head. Mike arrives in time to save his friend and punish the bad guy.
The danger doesn't stop there. In the process of exposing the truth to Howard, Mike and Marcus are pressured by the gang of corrupt cop James McGrath (Eric Dane). While escorting Armando to Miami (USA) to help confirm the identity of the perpetrator in the captain's case, all three are framed for murder and put on the FBI's wanted list. They must try to escape, expose the mastermind, and clear their names.
The fast pace and suspense are maintained throughout the film, from the chases on the streets of Miami to the gunfights. The action scenes are skillfully combined with the plot, helping to heighten the drama.
One of the most intense scenes is when Mike and Marcus confront the villain at Fletcher's (John Sally) art gallery. According to LADbible, the scene not only stands out for its action scenes but also shows the main character's intelligence and team spirit when having to think of a plan to overcome a difficult situation.
In the final battle, Mike and Marcus team up to fight James. The Wrap commented that the scene was well-staged, with lots of action and special effects, creating a convincing ending for the audience. This is also the moment when the truth is revealed, helping to restore the honor of the two policemen.
Along with the thrills, the film is not without its humorous and light-hearted moments. Marcus Burnett - the brand's comical character - continues to be a source of positive energy in this production. After falling into a coma due to a heart attack, he is full of life, calmly overcoming many dangerous situations without fear.
Meanwhile, Mike Lowrey maintains a cool, decisive demeanor. No longer the impulsive and aggressive cop of the previous three parts, he is described as a mature, family-oriented person. When Armando is widely seen as a villain who needs to be eliminated, Mike tries to protect his son, proving that he can help in the pursuit of James.
The two characters play a supporting role for each other, maintaining the image of a "perfect pair" on the big screen for many years. There are times when Mike becomes weak, while Marcus is strong, becoming a support for his friend. One memorable scene is when Mike has a panic attack near the end of the film. To help Mike calm down, Marcus slaps Mike many times.
Many film sites said the scene was reminiscent of Will Smith's attack on stage at the 2022 Oscars. According to People, many viewers laughed during the entire scene at screenings. The Wrap said the moment not only brought laughter but also showed the strong friendship between the two characters.
According to Variety, the character Mike has similarities with Will Smith. After the 2022 Oscar incident, the actor faced a lot of controversy and pressure from the public. In the film, Mike Lowrey experiences panic attacks, reflecting the pressure of artists in real life.
The performances of the two main actors help keep the audience engaged. Having worked together for four films, the two maintain a good chemistry. Will Smith brings out the complexity of Mike Lowrey through facial expressions and voice. Martin Lawrence, with his trademark wit, balances the story.
