Salaries for commune-level officials will increase in line with the basic salary (Illustrative image: Tien Tuan).
At the regular June press conference, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra announced that the Politburo had agreed not to abolish the basic salary when reforming the salary system from July 1st. Instead, the Politburo agreed to increase the basic salary from 1.8 million VND to 2.34 million VND for all officials and civil servants.
Therefore, from July 1st, the salaries of officials and civil servants will still be calculated using the formula of multiplying the salary coefficient by the base salary.
The salary coefficient will still be applied according to the salary tables issued with Decree 204/2004/ND-CP. The base salary from July 1st will be 2.34 million VND.
Based on Table 5 in the appendix attached to Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP, the salary scale for full-time officials in communes, wards, and towns from July 1st is as follows.
