In its multidimensional poverty reduction efforts, Dang Kang commune has identified information poverty reduction as a strategic priority, aiming to raise awareness, change mindsets, and improve the actions of its people, especially the ethnic minority community, which accounts for approximately 32% of the commune's population.
According to the Multidimensional Poverty Standard for the period 2021-2025, information deprivation is classified as a key indicator of basic social services criteria, emphasizing that the State aims not only to increase income but also to ensure that people have access to essential information for self-development.
Recognizing this, Dang Kang commune has implemented the "Information Poverty Reduction" sub-project under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction. The project serves as a useful bridge, helping poor and near-poor households access telecommunication services, online public services, job information, and livelihood support programs.

Dang Kang commune's strategy is implemented comprehensively, starting with investment in telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring mobile and fixed-line network coverage throughout the area. Public address systems have also been installed in many villages and hamlets to disseminate information on policies, science , and technology.
In addition, the commune established a commune-level Steering Committee on digital transformation and, in particular, community digital technology teams in villages and hamlets. With the participation of 100% of trained officials, the digital technology teams implemented the campaign "Going door to door, providing on-site guidance," applying a "hands-on" approach. Thanks to this proactive approach, adults in the commune have accessed information about digital transformation, creating a solid foundation for rural digital transformation.
The reality in Dang Kang village has proven this change. Mr. Y Nen Byă, a former impoverished household in the village, has become a pioneering example in economic development. By proactively seeking information on science and technology on digital platforms, he boldly transformed his crop structure from short-term crops to high-yield coffee cultivation, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong in income each year. Now, Mr. Y Nen's family not only has a stable income but has also become a driving force spreading the spirit of "escaping poverty through knowledge" in the community.

Mr. Y Nên shared: “Thanks to the community digital technology team in our village disseminating information on digital transformation applications and accessing knowledge about farming and livestock raising through the internet, my family has gained more experience to apply to agricultural production. With this change in awareness and a better understanding of economic activities, my family will officially be out of poverty by 2025.”
Also a predominantly ethnic minority village, Cu Pam currently has 348 households, but as many as 139 are poor and 77 are near-poor. Mr. Y Tloi Nie, the head of Cu Pam village, said that because of the high poverty rate, the village focuses on guiding people to access diverse information through various means, especially learning about the internet to apply scientific and technical methods in farming and livestock raising.

In a more in-depth analysis, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dang Kang Commune, Nguyen Hong Duy, clarified the ultimate goal of information poverty reduction: “The locality recognizes that equipping people with knowledge beforehand is extremely important. When equipped with knowledge, people will grasp the policies and production techniques, thereby proactively participating in poverty reduction programs. To ensure people have quick access to information, especially in poverty reduction efforts in the area, the commune is currently implementing the 'Popular Education Movement' in every village, hamlet, and public service unit, including the health and education sectors.”
Thus, reducing information poverty is a process of empowering people, helping them break free from dependence and create their own future. By ensuring equal access to information, knowledge, and opportunities for all, Dang Kang commune has successfully activated its initiative and unleashed its internal potential, creating a solid foundation for sustainable socio-economic development in the next phase.
Initial success in Dang Kang has proven that information is not just a basic service, but also the key to unlocking potential, helping people proactively grasp knowledge and opportunities and rise to prosperity.
