Under the headline “The King receives Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly at the Imperial Palace,” Kyodo news agency emphasized that on December 4, the King and Queen met with Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and his wife visiting Japan at the Imperial Palace.
According to the Imperial Household Agency, the two sides exchanged about 25 minutes.
The Emperor thanked Vietnam for its support to Japan following the Noto Peninsula earthquake. He also expressed his condolences for the damage caused by Typhoon Yagi (Storm No. 3) in Vietnam in September.
Kyodo News also quoted the response of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, affirming that Japan and Vietnam will celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2023.
President Tran Thanh Man said the relationship between the two countries has developed strongly in many areas, including politics and culture, and expressed gratitude for Japan's support.

Looking back on his visit to Vietnam in 2009, the Emperor thanked the Vietnamese people for their warm hospitality. President Tran Thanh Man expressed his hope that the Japanese Emperor will return to visit Vietnam.

On the same day, the official website of the Japanese House of Representatives posted news about the meeting between National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Japanese House of Representatives Chairman Nukaga Fukushiro, with the title "Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam visits the House of Representatives."
House of Representatives Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro welcomed a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly to Japan and shared the damage caused by Typhoon Yagi (Storm No. 3) in Vietnam in September this year. Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro supported the two countries to strengthen cooperation.
In his response, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Mr. Nukaga Fukushiro on being re-elected as Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives and thanked Japan for its support for Vietnam.
The talks also mentioned the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of parliamentary exchanges, economic cooperation and security./.
