Bao Loc: Completing the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses

(LĐ online) - Up to now, with the drastic participation of the entire political system, the cooperation of businesses, philanthropists and the people, Bao Loc City has completed the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

On May 27, Comrade Huynh Minh Chanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bao Loc City, said: In order to effectively implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, from the beginning of 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city has issued a document requesting wards and communes in the area to review and register the need for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses of local people. Through the review, the whole city of Bao Loc has 33 households registered for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; of which, there are 4 newly built houses and 29 repaired houses.

Specifically, Loc Chau commune has 22 households registered for support to repair houses; B'Lao ward has 5 households (2 households building new houses and 3 households repairing houses); Loc Phat ward has 2 households building new houses; Dai Lao, Loc Nga and Loc Tien communes, each locality registered 1 house for repair. The total budget for implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the entire Bao Loc city is 1.5 billion VND.

In order for the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to be completed as planned, in addition to the resources from the Temporary House Elimination Fund from the budget, the Fund for the Poor, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bao Loc City has called on organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to join hands in contributing funds.

To date, 33/33 households registered for support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses have completed the construction and repair of their houses. Of which, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bao Loc City has disbursed support funds with a total amount of 1.171 billion VND. The remaining amount was supported by local authorities, businesses and philanthropists in terms of funds and in-kind items.

In addition, according to statistics, from 2024 to present, agencies, associations, and organizations in Bao Loc City have also connected with sponsors to build and repair 12 houses of love and solidarity for poor and disadvantaged households in the area, with a total cost of more than 1 billion VND.

The results of the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Bao Loc City have affirmed the humane journey towards poor and disadvantaged households with the determination to “leave no one behind”. Each newly built or repaired house has contributed to bringing a better life to poor, disadvantaged and disadvantaged households.
