Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025 (DIFF 2025) is a key cultural and tourism event, attracting millions of domestic and international residents and tourists.
Faced with this large-scale and complex event, the functional forces of Da Nang city have focused maximum resources, developed detailed plans and closely coordinated to ensure absolute security and safety for the festival.
Security and safety of DIFF 2025
Ensuring safety in the airspace, sea and fireworks display areas is a top priority. The Da Nang Military Command has proactively developed 14 specific plans, including transporting supplies, equipment and fireworks; clearing mines and explosives; responding to fires, explosions, building collapses and possible release of toxic chemicals.
More than 1,700 officers and soldiers from many military units were mobilized along with specialized equipment and vehicles deployed widely, ready to move to protect the inner and outer perimeters of the fireworks stands.
The entire force is on duty 100% of the time, strictly protecting the artillery warehouse and firing range, and monitoring and handling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the festival area.
Colonel Tran Quang Chanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the City Military Command, said: “We maintain a force on duty, patrolling and guarding the artillery warehouse and firing range, while closely monitoring the technical condition of the equipment serving the work. Close coordination between units to suppress UAVs and ensure absolute safety for the event is of particular importance.”
Along with the military, the Da Nang Border Guard also plays an important role in protecting the safety of the sea area. The unit mobilized 6 ships, 20 boats and canoes, along with more than 300 officers and soldiers to blockade the entire Han River section from Thuan Phuoc Bridge to Han River Bridge.
The Border Guard is responsible for controlling water security, promptly handling unexpected situations, ensuring safety for people and vehicles, and coordinating search and rescue.
Colonel Tran Cong Thanh, Commander of the City Border Guard Command, affirmed: “The border guards are determined to ensure absolute safety in the assigned area. We are ready to mobilize forces and vehicles to handle emergency situations, coordinate to control tourist boats, and not allow unqualified vehicles to enter the fireworks display area. In addition, we will closely coordinate with medical and other forces to promptly handle emergency situations when necessary.”
Da Nang police mobilize all forces
As the core force in security and order, Da Nang City Police has made a detailed plan to ensure comprehensive security for DIFF 2025.
It is estimated that the fireworks event will attract a large number of people, and many other international events will take place at the same time, so security and order will not only focus on the festival area but also spread throughout the city.
The city police have established eight specialized subcommittees in charge of key areas such as security in Son Tra and Hai Chau areas; drone management; crime prevention; traffic safety; fire prevention and fighting; and rectification of police regulations.
More than 4,000 police officers and soldiers, in coordination with the Central Mobile Police Regiment and the Traffic Police Department's Waterway Division, were deployed at hot spots such as the main stage, grandstands, fireworks display grounds, and key routes. Patrol forces 911, 8394, and 6743 increased control and prevention of crimes such as theft, illegal racing, and public disorder.
Colonel Nguyen Dai Dong, Deputy Director in charge of Da Nang City Police, emphasized: “All officers and soldiers must thoroughly understand the plan, strictly implement protection plans, bring full equipment, and be ready to quickly handle any arising situations. Command teams also continuously check and remind people to strictly follow the regulations while on duty.”
The city police also arranged traffic forces to grasp the traffic flow plan and ensure safety while leading the delegation to the grandstand area. Coordination between forces was carried out synchronously, closely monitored through the Command Center to promptly handle any unusual situations.
Thanks to the close coordination and careful preparation of the Military Command, Border Guard and City Police, ensuring security and safety for the 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is a top priority.
Specific plans, large-scale mobilization of forces and strong leadership will contribute to maintaining the image of Da Nang as a safe, friendly and dynamic destination in the eyes of tourists and the international community./.
