Storm warnings remain in place in most northern provinces of the Philippines, where residents have been warned of the risk of landslides in rain-soaked mountain villages and flooding in low-lying areas.

Typhoon Yagi has increased seasonal monsoon rainfall and caused torrential rains across the Philippines' Luzon region, including the capital Manila area.

At least 14 people have been killed by landslides, floods and swollen rivers in northern and central Philippine provinces, officials said.

Thousands of tourists were stranded on Monday after sea travel was temporarily halted at several ports and 34 domestic flights were delayed due to stormy weather.

According to the Vietnam National Hydrometeorological Agency, at 1:00 a.m. on September 4, the center of storm No. 3 was located at about 18.8 degrees North latitude; 118.3 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea area of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10-11 (89-117 km/h), gusting to level 13, moving in the West Northwest direction, about 10 km/h.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Weather Forecasting Department, said that this is a very strong storm. In addition to strong winds, the storm will cause waves 7-9 meters high, directly affecting ships operating at sea. The storm can even sink large ships.

When the storm makes landfall, its circulation will be wide, along the northern and north central provinces. If it follows scenario 1, it will cause heavy rain in the north, while according to scenario 2, the heavy rain area will expand from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien - Hue. Heavy rain will cause flash floods, landslides and urban flooding.
