Missing 22-month-old baby found dead in ditch near home

On the night of October 29, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phong Thu commune (Phong Dien district, TT- Hue province) said that the authorities are coordinating with the police force to examine the scene and investigate the cause of death of a child in the area.

Initial information said that at around 3:00 p.m. the same day, LCMĐ (22 months old), the son of LCTh (born in 1996) and VTT (born in 1998, residing in Tay Lai village, Phong Thu commune) was playing alone in the yard.

A few minutes later, relatives went out to the yard but did not see the child, so they called the neighbors to organize a search and reported the incident to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the authorities mobilized forces, along with many people, to search for the child.

According to the leader of Phong Thu commune, after nearly half a day of searching, at around 9:15 pm tonight, authorities discovered the child dead, his body in a ditch near his house.

Currently, the cause of the child's death is being investigated and clarified.
