This morning, March 30th, at the Quang Tri Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center, the Organizing Committee of the Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship held the closing ceremony of the 66th Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department; Mr. Nguyen Trung Hinh, Vice President of the Vietnam Athletics Federation; and Mr. Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper.

At 4:25 this morning, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Phung Cong Suong, along with members of the organizing committee, team leaders, coaches, and over 7,500 athletes, attended the flag-raising ceremony. Starting at 4:30, professional and amateur athletes began competing in the 21.1km and 42.195km races for men and women in both professional and amateur categories; the 10km races for professional men, young men, and amateur men and women; and the 5km races for professional women, young women, and amateur men and women.

Over 7,500 athletes from all over the country participated in the competition, offering spectators exciting, captivating, and dramatic races with high professional standards, leaving a deep impression on locals and tourists. The people of Quang Tri dedicated much time and affection to supporting and cheering on the athletes throughout the tournament. In particular, many professional athletes performed well, successfully defending their achievements from the previous season, such as: athletes Hoang Nguyen Thanh and Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa, who won first place in the full marathon. There were no surprises in the women's 5km elite category, with Nguyen Thi Oanh continuing her dominance with a time of 16 minutes and 19 seconds, marking her 9th consecutive championship; athlete Do Quoc Luat won first place in the men's elite 10km category; athlete Vuong Thi Hien won first place in the women's amateur 10km category; athlete Le Van Binh won first place in the men's amateur 10km category...

In his closing remarks, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Phung Cong Suong, emphasized: The 66th Tien Phong National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025 is an important tournament with high professional quality, part of the high-performance sports competition system of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Athletics Federation, bringing together professional and amateur athletes from both within and outside the country.
This tournament aims to create a beneficial and friendly playing field, providing an opportunity for interaction, learning, exchange of experiences, and strengthening solidarity among athletes. It also serves as an opportunity for the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Athletics Federation to assess the athletics movement in localities nationwide, discover new talents to strengthen the national team in preparation for regional and international competitions in the future.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Phung Cong Suong, thanked the leaders of Quang Tri province, the volunteers, and the sponsors who have always stood by and supported the tournament to make it a success; and congratulated the more than 7,500 athletes who overcame their limits, conquered the challenging routes, and contributed greatly to the success of the tournament.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 4 individuals who had achieved many accomplishments in organizing the event. The Organizing Committee presented commemorative plaques to the sponsors; and handed over the flag for hosting the 67th Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2026 to Khanh Hoa province. The sponsoring units symbolically handed over 15 houses to support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Tri province.
