(Dan Tri) - On November 22, medical staff at Soc Son General Hospital discovered a premature baby girl placed in a plastic bag at the door of the Emergency Department. At that time, the baby was cyanotic, not breathing on her own, and had a faint heartbeat.

When discovered by medical staff at Soc Son General Hospital ( Hanoi ), the child was cyanotic, unable to breathe, and had a faint heart. Immediately, doctors performed CPR, cardiac compression, and endotracheal intubation.

After 2 minutes, the baby's heart returned, he was warmed, given 5% glucose, sedated, had an endotracheal tube, pulse 160-180 beats/minute, SpO2 92%. The baby was transferred to the Neonatal Department, Duc Giang General Hospital on the afternoon of November 22.

According to the doctor, the child was transferred to the department in a state of hypothermia, with no temperature measurement, and an endotracheal tube was inserted. The child was born very prematurely, about 31 weeks gestation, weighing 1.3 kg, and had no relatives.

After examination, the child was diagnosed with respiratory failure, grade IV hyaline membrane disease, hypothermia, neonatal infection, and premature birth at 31-32 weeks. The department performed emergency care and intensive treatment for the patient.

The child received high-intensity invasive ventilation, vasopressors, surfactant injections three times, total intravenous nutrition, three types of antibiotics, and incubator.

Currently, after a day of treatment, the child's condition is still very critical, body temperature is stable, invasive ventilation index is high, vasomotor maintenance, complete intravenous nutrition... The child still has to be in an incubator.
