According to Mr. Doan Van Danh, up to now, in Ben Tre, there has not been any case of production areas or export shipments being contaminated with yellow O, cadmium or other banned substances.
However, through specialized agencies and the grassroots agricultural extension system, producers and businesses will be guided to produce safely, avoiding the risk of contamination with heavy metals and other prohibited substances. In addition, the provincial agricultural sector also strengthens the inspection and supervision of production areas and packaging houses to promptly detect and handle.

It is known that the whole Ben Tre province has 2,760 hectares of durian, with two durian varieties Ri 6 and Dona achieving quite high efficiency, with an average yield of about 24,198 tons.
Currently, the province has established 15 growing area codes with an area of 443 hectares of durian to serve the domestic and export markets. Ben Tre is focusing on developing durian trees towards improving quality, cultivating according to GAP food safety standards or equivalent.
