Patient ate instant noodles in a 5m2 rented room, braved storms to go to radiation therapy

On the morning of July 22, the Tan Trieu branch of K Hospital ( Hanoi ) continuously suffered heavy rains since the night before, severely affecting the lives of hundreds of cancer patients and their families being treated at the hospital.

In cramped, damp rented rooms of less than 5 square meters, many patients said they had to eat instant noodles, stock up on food and stay in their rented rooms all night, waiting for the rain to stop before daring to go out for fear of danger.

Eating and moving around become inconvenient in rainy weather.

Some patients and their relatives tried to use umbrellas and raincoats to cross the rain to go to a cheap restaurant - a place only a few dozen meters from the hospital but now became a difficult road due to the heavy rain.

While many people are fighting illness, having to deal with leaky rain, dampness, and food shortages makes life in already cramped rented accommodation even more suffocating.
