Thoroughly grasping and implementing documents of the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Region 9 Command, the Logistics and Engineering Department, in 2025, Military Hospital 120 will focus on promoting digital transformation in the military and examination, admission, emergency, and treatment for subjects including: Document and work record management using digital signatures; information and command systems; applied television software (online meetings); military email, hospital management software, electronic medical records system, etc.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Thien, Head of the General Planning Department, Military Hospital 120 said: “Previously, the management of documents and activities at the unit was mainly carried out using traditional methods, using paper, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. Therefore, the hospital has completed the connection to the military data transmission network of the Military Region and agencies and units, thanks to which the implementation of processing records and documents is carried out on the system, contributing to shortening the time for processing records and documents, avoiding errors.”
Recently, Military Hospital 120 has deployed military data transmission network connection and deployed information security solutions, processed records and documents on computers connected to the military data transmission network, and completed the installation of information security solutions. Thanks to that, the deployment of processing military records and documents on the network system has shortened the time, ensuring absolute safety in information security.
“Digital transformation has been gradually completed and effectively applied in performing tasks. The information technology infrastructure has connected from the Board of Directors to the agencies and departments. 100% of outgoing documents from hospital agencies are summarized and reported to the Military Region via the military computer network with digital signatures; 75% of military officers and employees have created and set up document management accounts,” shared Lieutenant Colonel, Specialist Doctor II Nguyen Trung Kien, Director of Military Hospital 120.

In parallel with the digital transformation, Military Hospital 120 is converting the HIS system (hospital management software) of Viettel Group and is expected to put it into operation in August 2025. Previously, the hospital deployed management and digitalization software applications including: HIS, LIS, RIS/PACS, EMR software systems; medical image acquisition and transmission system software... Comply with domestic and international standards, ensuring the ability to connect, share and integrate data with all existing equipment in the hospital.
It is expected that before September 15, Military Hospital 120 will complete and put into use electronic medical records to improve the quality of service for people coming to the hospital for examination and treatment. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien affirmed: “The application of information technology systems not only helps improve work efficiency, but also creates conditions for officers and employees to improve their skills in using digital devices. This is an important milestone in training officers and employees, applying new information technology regulations, meeting the increasing requirements in treatment and health care for soldiers and people in the area”.
