Leading us to Viet's house, Mr. Nguyen Van An - a villager, walked and pointed to the newly completed 2km concrete road of the village. Mr. An shared: "Previously, this road was only 4m wide, with the support of the State, the people donated land to widen the road to 9m, with drainage ditches. The results we have today are partly thanks to the efforts of Mr. Viet who mobilized people to donate land. The widened road creates favorable conditions for travel and economic development, everyone in the village is happy."

Seeing guests coming to his house, Mr. Viet excitedly put aside his work, went into the house to make tea for guests. Sipping a cup of hot tea, he told us about his participation in the village's work. Through the conversation, we learned that from 2008 to 2020, Mr. Viet held the positions of village chief and head of the front work committee of Quy Thanh village. From 2020 to present, Mr. Viet has been the Party Secretary of Quy Thanh village. In this position, Mr. Viet always focuses on improving the quality of Party cell activities, promoting the pioneering spirit of exemplary leadership of Party members in the village's movements. Every year, he and the Party cell develop resolutions on economic development and new rural construction in accordance with the village's reality. At the same time, he directs mass organizations to actively propagate and mobilize people to change the structure of crops and livestock; and renovate mixed gardens. Currently, Quy Thanh village has about 25 hectares of land for growing vegetables and fruits, bringing high economic efficiency. In addition, Mr. Viet always sticks closely to the grassroots to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people in order to have reasonable and sympathetic solutions, contributing to strengthening the great solidarity bloc among the people.

Implementing the model of new rural construction, Quy Thanh village encountered many difficulties, because of the low starting point, a part of the people did not fully understand the responsibilities in new rural construction... Therefore, in the Party cell meetings, Mr. Viet and the Party Committee identified the criteria that the village was facing difficulties in to find solutions. At the same time, promote propaganda to raise people's awareness. Thanks to that, the people of Quy Thanh village have actively contributed their efforts and money to build new rural areas. From 2023 to now, the people of Quy Thanh village have contributed 400 million VND in cash, donated nearly 24,000m2 to expand roads. Thanks to that, the appearance of Quy Thanh village has changed a lot, the infrastructure has been invested in and built spaciously; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved, the average income reached 70 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to 1.95%; 87% of families have achieved the title of "Cultural Family"...

Mr. Bui Van Viet said: Quy Thanh village has 205 households, more than 900 people, Muong ethnic people account for about 90%. With the efforts of the people and the support of the State, Quy Thanh village has met the new rural standards; striving to achieve a model new rural village by 2027. To mobilize people's contributions, Quy Thanh village has focused on propaganda so that people understand that they are the subjects in the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. At the same time, after each project built with people's contributions, it is made public and transparent so that people know. Since then, Quy Thanh village has mobilized people's contributions to build infrastructure, and the appearance of the village has changed day by day.

Along with actively participating in the collective work, Mr. Viet also invested in planting 1 hectare of vegetables, taking care of 2 hectares of acacia forest, growing sugarcane, creating jobs, and increasing income for his family. By his efforts to overcome difficulties and boldly apply scientific and technical advances in production, the crops grow well, bringing economic efficiency. Currently, the comprehensive economic model brings his family an income of about 300 million VND/year.

Mr. Cao Minh Thuc, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Cam Tu Commune, shared: Mr. Bui Van Viet, Secretary of the Party Cell of Quy Thanh Village, is an exemplary cadre who is responsible for his work. For his work and dedication, he has been awarded certificates of merit by all levels and sectors, and a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic policies, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in ethnic minority areas.
