On the morning of July 27, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, led a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to have a working session with the Party Committee of Bo Y commune and the Border Guard Station of Bo Y international border gate.

"The driver took us straight to the Bo Y international border gate. At that time, the Secretary told the members traveling with us to go to the border gate to check the situation in the area. This was not on the working schedule of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee delegation along the border in the past few days," said Ms. Thu.

It was pouring rain, when the car carrying Ms. Van entered the border gate area, the border guards responded very quickly. A car sent forces immediately followed, requesting to stop the car because it was entering the border gate area. At this time, Ms. Van got out of the car, surprising the border guards.

Right at the border gate, officers and soldiers on duty quickly reported on the activities and issues at the border gate. At the same time, the border guards took Ms. Van to inspect the border with Laos.

During the unannounced inspection, Ms. Van appreciated the initiative and readiness of the border guards at the border gate.

Although it was early in the morning, the response was very quick, the uniforms were neat, proving that the unit was not passive or surprised. Instructing the unit to carry out its tasks, Ms. Van requested that they always be ready for the missions. At the same time, they must be close to the people, close to the people, and grasp all the situations in the area.

Promoting Vietnam - Laos trade through Bo Y international border gate

At 7:30 a.m. the same day, the working delegation of the Provincial Party Standing Committee worked with Bo Y commune and the border guard station.

Mr. Thai Van Tuong, Director of the Quang Ngai Department of Foreign Affairs, said that if the Bo Y international border gate is well developed, it will contribute to economic development in four southern Lao provinces.

"The four southern provinces of Laos have a very large agricultural granary, but trade connections are very difficult. If the Bo Y international border gate operates well, it will contribute to economic development for the people of the two countries. The people of your country also really want to cooperate with us," said Mr. Tuong.

Listening to the report, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, requested immediate completion of planning for the communes at Bo Y border gate.

"Based on the planning of our locality, linked to the development of the border gate. Without planning, nothing can be done. Infrastructure and logistics also need to be developed, but currently they are not commensurate. At the same time, there must be preferential policies for the Bo Y Border Gate Economic Zone to attract businesses," said Mr. Giang.

The Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee said that the advantages of Bo Y commune are huge when the basic traffic infrastructure connects the domestic economic corridor with Laos and Cambodia; the trade and service structure of Bo Y accounts for a large proportion; the budget revenue is good...

"I feel very secure about assessing the situation and allocating forces in the border area. I hope the border guards will adapt to the new model, have an operating mechanism to meet border security, and work with the political system to control the area and the people... so as not to be surprised in any situation," said Ms. Van.
