According to the latest information from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), as of December 31, 2023, total bank credit capital reached more than VND 346,000 billion, an increase of more than VND 49,000 billion, equivalent to 17% over the same period in 2022.
Total loan turnover reached over 108,000 billion VND with over 2.2 million customers receiving loans.
Total outstanding debt reached nearly VND 332,000 billion, an increase of VND 48,576 billion (up 17.1%) compared to December 31, 2022, with more than 6.8 million poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries still having outstanding debt.
Overdue debt and debt settlement is 1,907 billion VND, accounting for 0.57% of total outstanding debt, of which overdue debt is 534 billion VND, accounting for 0.16% of total outstanding debt.
This bank said that by the end of 2023, outstanding loans under Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the Government on the Socio -Economic Recovery and Development Program reached VND 38,400 billion, with 615.6 thousand customers receiving loans, reaching 100% of the assigned plan in the 2 years 2022 - 2023.
By the end of 2023, the VBSP had disbursed a total of nearly VND 159,000 billion in policy credit loans with a 2% interest rate support to more than 3.3 million customers; implementing interest rate support with a total amount of VND 2,995.2 billion for the entire 2022 - 2023 period.
During the year, social policy credit capital supported investment in production and business, creating jobs for over 790,000 workers, including helping nearly 8,600 workers go to work abroad for a limited period and over 2,000 people who had just completed their prison sentences find jobs.
According to the report, in 2023, policy credit capital will also help nearly 97,000 students in difficult circumstances to borrow money for studying; disburse loans to more than 4,000 households to buy computers and online learning equipment for students; sanitation works in rural areas; build 1,383 houses for poor households to stabilize their lives, more than 15,000 social houses for low-income people...
