What do businesses that previously collaborated with the "Nurturing Children" project have to say?

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Amidst controversy over the transparency of the "Nurturing Children" project, several businesses that previously collaborated have affirmed that they did not participate in financial management and are ready to cooperate if requested by authorities.

Recently, the "Sponsor a Child" charity project has faced a wave of criticism after many donors discovered that one child was being adopted by multiple people, along with inaccurate data and a lack of transparency in its operations.

Furthermore, the project admitted to having no audit, with donations flowing into the personal account of its founder, Hoang Hoa Trung, while many donors reported receiving text messages urging them to pay "like debt collectors." Under public pressure, on December 8th, the project announced a temporary suspension of fundraising and a freeze of accounts to facilitate an audit.

According to reports, not only individuals but also many businesses have partnered with the "Nuoi Em" (Feeding Children) project. For example, in April 2019, Grab Vietnam collaborated with the project to launch the "Nuoi Em" (Joining Hands to Feed Children) program. For each "NUOIEM" code entered during an order, GrabFood would sponsor two meals for children in mountainous areas on behalf of the user. At the end of the program, Grab contributed 1 billion VND, equivalent to more than 117,000 meals for students, supporting lunch at school.

Similarly, the Mobile Online Services Joint Stock Company - the owner of the MoMo e-wallet - also collaborated with the "Nurturing Children" project and the National Volunteer Center to rebuild classrooms, staff rooms, and toilets for schools in mountainous areas.

Speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, a representative from MoMo stated that the company has undertaken numerous activities to support users in contributing to charitable programs through its application. These activities always adhere to the principle of only cooperating with and transferring funds to organizations and units legally authorized to conduct charitable activities, such as the Vietnam Fatherland Front , the National Volunteer Center, and the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund.

At the same time, it ensures safe and transparent transactions for users and offers free money transfers for user charitable donations on the app.

"The company does not manage, operate, control, or make any financial decisions related to projects or activities organized or participated in by Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung in his personal capacity. We are committed to fully cooperating should the competent authorities make any requests related to this matter," a company representative shared.

Profa Co., Ltd. also previously collaborated with the "Nutrition for Children" project, contributing one meal to the "Nutrition for Children" program for every product sold. A company representative stated that they ceased their partnership with the project in 2022 and are no longer involved with or collaborating with it. Prior to that, the company had achieved its goal of providing 30,000 meals, corresponding to 135 "Nutrition for Children" programs, with donations totaling over 195 million VND.

In addition, many other businesses have also participated in the "Feeding Children" project by allocating a portion of their revenue to fund lunches for children in mountainous areas, or some businesses have launched the "Joining Hands to Feed Children" program among their employees.

“Nuoi em” is a charity project founded by Hoang Hoa Trung in 2014, with the goal of bringing nutritious lunches to students in mountainous areas.

To participate, each "sponsor" contributes 1.45 million VND per school year. Of this, 1.35 million VND is used for food and 100,000 VND for facilities. The beneficiaries are preschool children and students from grades 1 to 12 in remote, mountainous areas who do not receive government food support, or who receive support but at a low level.

Regarding the current number of students being nourished, Nuoi Em said that at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the project received a list of 71,761 students, including 67,996 students needing 1 meal support and 3,765 students needing 2 meals support. This number of students is converted into 75,526 codes.

From his "Nurturing Children" project, Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung has received a series of awards such as Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face (2019); Forbes Vietnam 30 Under 30 (2020); National Volunteer Award 2017...
