The National Award for External Information is launched by the Central Steering Committee on External Information Work, chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, etc., and organized annually to honor forces working in external information at home and abroad in the fields of politics, economics, culture, diplomacy, etc.
According to the Organizing Committee, the four-part series "Vietnam's Trade Offices Extend the Nation's 'Soft Borders'" by authors Vo Tuan Anh (pen name: Vu Lanh) and Nguyen Thi Hong Tuoi (pen name: Nhat Thu), published in the daily Vietnam Law Newspaper, won the "Honorable Mention" award in the Vietnamese Newspaper/Magazine category. The series was produced in the context of the Party, State, Government, and National Assembly paying special attention to international integration, including international economic integration, with the role of Vietnamese trade offices abroad acting as a bridge and "pave the way" in foreign trade activities. This has helped Vietnamese goods, services, and brands reach across five continents, expanding the nation's "soft borders."
Specifically, the work vividly reflects the efforts of the domestic business community to access international markets. In particular, it strongly portrays the role of "ambassadors" of those who have been and are currently engaged in economic diplomacy in many countries around the world, including major trading partners of Vietnam such as the US, EU, China, Japan, and South Korea…
This is the 11th time the National Award for External Information has been announced. The award ceremony will take place at 8 PM on December 12th, and is expected to be attended and addressed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The program will be broadcast live on Vietnam National Television (VTV1) from the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace (Hanoi).
