Sea of ​​people flocked to Ba Den Mountain to pay homage to Buddha's relics

(PLVN) - On the afternoon of May 8, thousands of Vesak 2025 delegates from more than 80 countries departed from the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (Ho Chi Minh City) to Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh to perform the Buddha's relic procession and attend a series of solemn ceremonies within the framework of the United Nations Vesak Festival - Vesak 2025.

The Vesak 2025 delegation departed from the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (HCMC) to Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh to perform the ritual of welcoming the Buddha's relics.

The ceremony of carrying the Buddha's relics and the important rituals in the 2025 Vesak Festival at Ba Den Mountain were witnessed by Most Venerable Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit - President of the International Organizing Committee of the United Nations Vesak Festival (ICDV); Most Venerable Bhante Seewalee - Abbot and General Secretary, Maha Bodhi Society - Maha Bodhi Society of India, along with the Supreme Patriarchs, Supreme Patriarchs, Presidents, leaders of the Sangha Churches, Buddhist organizations; International Organizing Committee of the United Nations Vesak Festival (ICDV), world Buddhist organizations; Buddhist sects and traditions from 85 countries and territories; dignitaries of the Council of Evidence, the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

The Buddha's relics are the national treasure of India, and were approved by the Government of the Republic of India to be invited to Vietnam with important security and protocol principles through the diplomatic channel at the Government level. At the top of Ba Den Mountain, the Buddha's relics were enshrined at the Buddhist Exhibition Center from May 8-13, 2025 for Buddhists and the public to worship and pay homage.

At the top of Ba Den Mountain, Buddha's relics will be enshrined at the Buddhist Exhibition Center from May 8-13, 2025 for Buddhists and the public to worship and pay homage.

After the ceremony to enshrine the Buddha's relics, the planting of 108 Bodhi trees was held at the Bodhi Garden World on the top of Ba Den Mountain by eminent monks and leaders of Buddhist delegations from 80 countries around the world. This is a special Bodhi garden never seen before in Vietnam, with each tree numbered and associated with the name of a country participating in the 2025 Vesak celebration in Vietnam.

After the Bodhi tree planting ceremony, more than 2,000 Vesak delegates attended the candle lighting ceremony to pray for world peace at Tay Bo Da Son Square, where eminent monks and religious dignitaries from around the world lit candles symbolizing the light of wisdom and compassion and prayed for a peaceful and happy world.

When the relics were placed in the worship area, a pair of five-colored clouds suddenly appeared in the sky. The large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people present at the foot of the Buddha statue of Tay Bo Da Son were not surprised by this strange phenomenon.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, Acting Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee said: "Tay Ninh is a land with a long-standing cultural tradition, in which Ba Den Mountain is the leading spiritual destination in Southern Vietnam, and is an important Buddhist center for the religious life of the people here.

The enshrinement of Buddha's relics from India - a treasure of all mankind in the 2025 Vesak Festival not only creates an opportunity for the people of Tay Ninh province to receive blessings from the cradle of world Buddhism, but for Tay Ninh province, this is a very important cultural diplomatic event, contributing to spreading the message of solidarity between nations".
