Binh Dinh jubilantly opens the 2nd Culinary Culture Festival

NDO - In the joyful and exciting atmosphere to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day, on the evening of May 1, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Binh Dinh province solemnly held the 2nd Culinary Culture Festival in 2025.

The event is not only a highlight in a series of activities celebrating important milestones of the country, but also a special opportunity to introduce the rich cultural, historical and culinary values ​​of Binh Dinh to a large number of domestic and international tourists.

Binh Dinh has long been known as a land of outstanding people, possessing a rich historical sediment and a rich cultural identity. The Sa Huynh cultural heritage, Cham temple architecture, and the Tay Son peasant movement are still present in all places, becoming the fulcrum for tourism development.

Not only having tangible relics, Binh Dinh is also proud of its unique intangible cultural heritage such as traditional martial arts, folk singing, traditional festivals and long-standing craft villages. In particular, the cuisine here bears a strong mark with dishes closely associated with local history, tradition and nature.

Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, said that 2025 is of special importance because this is the year of acceleration and breakthrough, aiming to complete the development goals according to the Resolution of the Party Congress and the Action Program of the Provincial Party Committee on developing Binh Dinh tourism into a spearhead economic sector in the period of 2020-2025.

Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism spoke at the ceremony.

In recent years, Binh Dinh tourism has grown strongly, not only increasing the proportion of services in the economic structure, but also marking a step of sustainable development. In 2024, Binh Dinh was ranked 8th out of 30 provinces and cities in terms of provincial tourism development index.

Therefore, Binh Dinh province constantly enhances promotion and advertising, associated with digital transformation in tourism, develops diverse products, and attracts more domestic and international tourist markets.

The highlight of this year is the lively culinary exhibition space. Here, talented domestic and international artisans and chefs will directly demonstrate the art of preparing dishes, telling cultural and historical stories through each flavor, bringing a real and vivid experience to visitors.

Cuisine is not only a unique feature of a land, but also a symbol of culture, history, and people. Binh Dinh is proud of its dishes that captivate diners, carrying within them the story of the land of martial arts.

Famous specialties have become cultural ambassadors, bringing the image of Binh Dinh closer to friends from all over the world such as Bau Da wine, Huyen market spring rolls; gai leaf cake, shrimp spring rolls, Quy Nhon fish noodles, jumping shrimp pancakes... rustic flavors but containing the quintessence of the central region.

This year, the festival was held on an expanded scale, attracting 55 registered booths, including 34 food booths with a convergence of international cuisine (Thailand, Korea, Japan...) and regional cuisine (Gia Lai, Nghe An, Soc Trang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Ben Tre, Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Hoa...).

In particular, the festival has the participation of 19 booths displaying Binh Dinh culinary culture, including 16 OCOP booths from 67 units of 11 districts, towns and cities in the province; 4 tourism promotion booths, introducing the province's unique tourism products.

Binh Dinh Food and Culture Festival 2025 is not only a tourism event, but also a cultural journey, connection and development. With dishes bearing historical imprints, vivid culinary experiences and sincere feelings of the people of the martial arts land, Binh Dinh opens its arms to welcome visitors, promising a memorable festival, full of emotions and attractive journeys of discovery.
