Actively apply new technology
More than 20 years ago, BITCO was established and produced fired clay bricks using Tuynen kiln technology. This method has increasingly revealed many limitations such as high production costs, environmental pollution and dependence on increasingly depleted clay resources.
Since 2014, the Company has shifted to investing in the first phase of the unburnt brick production project with a cement-aggregate unburnt brick production line. By 2018, BITCO continued to invest nearly 110 billion VND in the production line of AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) lightweight concrete bricks using German technology. This is an advanced, environmentally friendly technology, capable of soundproofing, heat insulation, fire resistance and faster construction.
AAC bricks are made from sand or fly ash, cement, lime, aluminum powder, gypsum and water. The product is autoclaved in a steam boiler system, so no clay or coal is used to burn the bricks, helping to save input materials. The product is manufactured using autoclaved aerated concrete technology, helping to reduce more than 30% of environmental waste, consume 60% less energy and reduce more than 55% of greenhouse radiation compared to traditional bricks.
In early 2023, BITCO continued to invest in the production of ALC panels with steel cores. This product is suitable for modern construction trends, meeting high technical requirements for light weight, sound insulation, heat insulation and fire resistance up to 4 hours. Currently, BITCO is 1 of 5 domestic factories with the capacity to produce ALC panels, and is the only unit in the Central - Central Highlands region with the technology to produce autoclaved aerated concrete unburnt bricks.
Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Director of BITCO, said: The company is the pioneer in the province to invest in a synchronous system of equipment using German technology to implement Decision No. 567/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the strategy for developing non-fired construction materials until 2025 and vision to 2030. Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) bricks and ALC panels have 1 or 2 steel cores with a length of 1.2 - 4 m, weight of about 600 kg/m³, easy to construct, waterproof, soundproof and fireproof. The product meets TCVN 7959 - 2017 and TCVN 12867 - 2020, autoclaved aerated concrete bricks manufactured by BITCO have been certified by the specialized agency of the Ministry of Public Security as fire-resistant products for up to 4 hours.
Overcoming market barriers, spreading green materials
Although the product has been invested in synchronous equipment, modern technology and a methodical production process, with many advantages and outstanding characteristics, BITCO still faces many difficulties in the consumption stage. One of the major barriers is the psychology of consumers who are still used to using traditional fired bricks, are still hesitant with new materials, and the construction techniques of new materials for construction workers have not been adapted. In addition, consultants, architects, and investors have not really dared to bring unburnt materials from autoclaved aerated concrete technology to local construction works and projects. Currently, the Company mainly supplies products to some localities outside the province such as Da Nang , Hue, etc.
Currently, there are only 5 enterprises in the country that maintain the production of AAC bricks, of which BITCO is the only one in the Central Highlands region. To overcome market barriers, BITCO not only produces materials but also directly provides complete construction solutions to investors, and at the same time cooperates with enterprises in the same field to expand market share.
One of the units that is cooperating effectively with BITCO is TMN Construction Trading Company Limited (Quy Nhon Nam Ward). Mr. Le Phuong, Chairman of the Board of Members of TMN Construction Trading Company Limited, said: In the context that construction projects increasingly focus on construction time and reasonable costs, ALC panels with steel core are the right choice. The combination of BITCO and TMN in implementing projects using lightweight materials has helped many customers and investors trust and pay attention to this new material.
From 2020 to present, BITCO has been continuously awarded the Outstanding Rural Industrial Product Award by the Ministry of Industry and Trade ; and has received the title of High-quality Vietnamese Goods for 10 consecutive years. The above achievements are a recognition of the company's continuous efforts in improving product quality and sustainable development.
