Conference on training in inspection and examination of high school graduation exam in 2024.
On the morning of May 31, at Ho Chi Minh City Banking University, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a training course on inspection and examination of the 2024 high school graduation exam with the participation of universities and departments of education and training.
At the conference, the Ministry of Education and Training provided training on inspection and examination skills according to 5 directives, official dispatches, documents and instructions issued by the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, etc. Specifically, Directive No. 15/CT-TTg dated May 16, 2024 of the Prime Minister on strengthening direction and coordination in organizing the high school graduation exam and university and vocational education admissions in 2024; Consolidated Document No. 01/VBHN-BGDDT dated April 22, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training Circular promulgating regulations on high school graduation exams; Official Dispatch No. 1932/BGDDT-TTr dated April 26, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training guiding the inspection and examination of the high school graduation exam in 2024; Official dispatch No. 1277/BGDĐT-QLCL dated March 22, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training guiding the organization of the 2024 high school graduation exam; Instruction No. 3101/ANCTNB-QLCL between the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training and the Department of Internal Political Security, Ministry of Public Security .
Prime Minister's Directive No. 15 clearly states: In recent years, high school graduation exams and university and vocationaleducation entrance exams have been organized more seriously, objectively, honestly, and safely, basically meeting the goals of assessing the quality of general education, student capacity, and admission requirements.
However, the organization of exams and enrollment still has some shortcomings and limitations. Some localities and units are not proactive and determined in organizing and implementing; coordination is still not smooth, not tight, and not very effective; communication is not complete and timely; the use of high technology to cheat in exams is increasingly sophisticated and complicated.
The Prime Minister requested ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to closely and comprehensively lead and direct; coordinate smoothly, closely, effectively, and smoothly; carefully and thoroughly prepare conditions; properly implement regulations and rules on organizing the exam; information and communication must be proactive, timely, and complete; absolutely not be negligent or subjective; flexibly and effectively handle arising issues, and create the most favorable conditions for candidates to participate in the exam.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to issue documents directing, guiding and implementing the plan for organizing the university and college entrance exams and admissions; ensuring that the exam questions are of good quality, have appropriate levels of differentiation, are absolutely safe and accurate, and meet the requirements of the exam; proactively coordinate with ministries, branches and localities in organizing the exam and promptly handle any arising issues;
Official Dispatch No. 1932/BGDĐT-TTr dated April 26, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates the inspection and examination work of the Ministry of Education and Training to inspect and examine the issuance of documents, direction and organization of exams by provincial steering committees, Departments of Education and Training, examination councils, examination sites; and the organization of examination inspection and examination by Departments of Education and Training.
The inspection and examination team of the Department of Education and Training conducts inspections and examinations of the examination organization of the examination council and its committees regarding exam preparation, invigilation, grading, review of exam papers, and graduation recognition.
The high school graduation exam is an important exam that evaluates the learning outcomes of high school students after 12 years of study. The exam results are used for admission to universities and colleges and affect the future orientation of students, affecting the reputation of the education sector and the national examination system, causing negative consequences for society, creating an unhealthy learning and examination environment. Therefore, ensuring that the exam is conducted strictly and fairly is extremely important. Inspection plays an important role in ensuring the seriousness of the exam.
The 2024 high school graduation exam will take place on June 27 and 28. Candidates will take 3 independent exams: math, literature, foreign languages (English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean) and 1 optional combination exam of natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) or social sciences (history, geography, civics) for candidates studying the general education program at high school level or the history and geography component exams for candidates studying the continuing education program at high school level.
In 2024, the whole country has 1,067,391 candidates registered for the 2024 high school graduation exam on the exam registration system, including 45,344 independent candidates .
The 2024 high school graduation exam is the final exam according to the current general education program. From 2025, the high school graduation exam will only have 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects: math, literature and 2 elective subjects from the remaining subjects studied in grade 12 (foreign language, history, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, economic and legal education, information technology, technology).
