The Ministry of Education and Training is widely soliciting opinions on the plan to organize high school graduation exams from 2025. Minister Nguyen Kim Son requested that after receiving additional written opinions from 63 provinces and cities, the plan must be completed and submitted to the Ministry's leaders for a report to request the Government's standing committee's opinion before being announced, to be completed in September 2023.
The Ministry requested relevant units and localities to establish a steering committee to implement the plan to organize the graduation exam from 2025 with members from relevant units, assigning specific tasks for implementation. Next, the units will develop a project and plan to implement the high school graduation exam plan from 2025 according to the roadmap from now until 2030.
The Ministry of Education and Training will organize training for teachers to develop exam questions and exam questions in accordance with the requirements of the new general education program, including both specialized and general education; organize conferences, seminars to share and train many subjects participating in the development of exam questions. This work needs to start from the fourth quarter of 2023.
Yesterday (September 13), the Ministry of Education and Training announced the draft plan for organizing the 2025 high school graduation exam, which is expected to have 4 compulsory subjects and 6 optional subjects. Of which, the 4 compulsory subjects are Math, Literature, Foreign Language, History. Optional subjects include: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economic and Legal Education, Technology, and Information Technology.
This list of 10 subjects does not include the following subjects: Geography, Music, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Local Education, and Experiential Activities.
This information immediately caused a stir in public opinion when History became a compulsory subject while Geography was removed from the list of subjects.
