Ministry of National Defense inspects military and defense work in Lang Son

On October 30, a working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense led by Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, conducted a comprehensive inspection of military and defense work at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station and the Lang Son Provincial Border Guard Command.

The working delegation inspected Party work, political work, the system of documents, plans, training curriculum, combat readiness; inspected troop management regulations, team regulations, and inspected political awareness and combat readiness of officers, soldiers and staff of the unit.

The inspection team organized a combat readiness awareness check at the Border Guard Station of Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

Along with that, the working delegation also tested K54 gun shooting for officers and AK gun shooting lesson 1 for professional soldiers; at the same time, inspected the management system to ensure logistics and technical materials at the unit.

The inspection noted that in 2025, the unit strictly maintained discipline and combat readiness, maintained full command, shift, and professional shifts; built discipline and management; proactively did a good job of grasping, assessing, and forecasting the situation, not being passive or surprised in any situation; ensured security and safety of the border, and firmly protected territorial sovereignty.

In particular, in 2025, the unit has done a good job in border diplomacy with the Chinese border protection force; including strengthening the friendly relationship between the unit and the border protection force of the neighboring country, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border.

The working delegation also acknowledged that the unit has closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and functional forces in performing border protection tasks, effectively fighting against all types of crimes, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area under the station's responsibility; Party and political work has been carried out effectively and in a disciplined manner, contributing to strengthening the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

Concluding the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the results in performing the tasks of the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station and the Lang Son Provincial Border Guard Command; at the same time, requested that in the coming time, the unit's Party Committee and commanders quickly overcome the limitations; continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the documents of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on military and defense tasks.

Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang suggested that the Border Guard Command of Lang Son province continue to promote its leadership role, direct the unit to perform well its political tasks; accurately forecast the situation, advise the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Lang Son province to quickly handle situations arising on the border, participate in building a strong political base, do a good job of mass mobilization and foreign affairs, including border diplomacy and people's diplomacy.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army emphasized that the unit must always strictly maintain combat readiness and on-duty, strengthen border patrols, and coordinate with forces to effectively prevent smuggling and illegal border crossings.

In addition, the unit needs to always promote Party and political activities, promptly orientate ideology, resolve thoughts and aspirations, and ensure full policies for officers and soldiers; strictly manage weapons and technical equipment; ensure absolute safety for people, weapons and equipment, and build a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary, typical" unit.
