Spending billions to make a live show, Minh Thu is haunted by selling tickets even in her dreams

Meritorious Artist Minh Thu marked her 25th year of singing with the live show "Thu Ca" at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of November 11. The music night featured guest singers Tuan Ngoc, Hong Duong, Bao Tram and the MFU group.

Although Minh Thu's voice is associated with the songs of musicians Phu Quang and Pho Duc Phuong, in "Thu Ca", she wants to express a youthful, dynamic, and fresh voice through the performance of familiar songs.

Explaining her changes, Minh Thu said that her recent tour in the US urged her to change her thinking about her career. She wanted a complete change with a youthful, dynamic image, not only focusing on singing but also combining it with dancing.

Writer Di Li, a close friend of Minh Thu, shared that she was surprised that after about 4 days of hard work in the practice room, Minh Thu had almost perfected a tango dance.

Minh Thu wants to play many roles in her live show.

"Autumn Song" consists of three parts with familiar songs about Hanoi, such as "My Hanoi", "Hanoi, Where I Return", "Towards Hanoi" in part 1.

In part 2, old songs like "Thu rac that thu", "Chiec la cuoi cuoi"... are "rejuvenated" by music director Thanh Vuong and the audience will witness Minh Thu sublimate with choreography with dance music Tango and Twist. Part 3 is a return to the age of love full of desire with romantic hits by domestic and foreign musicians with "Em dao nay", "Tuoi da buon", "Con mo bang dang"... remixed.

A rather special point of this live show of Meritorious Artist Minh Thu is that she produced it herself with the help of friends, siblings, and close colleagues. Sharing more about this, Minh Thu said that she wanted to try her hand at things she had never done before, like singing live and dancing. She also invested in her own program, instead of having an event organizer.

"I have to take responsibility and control everything myself, from production costs, forming a crew, choosing partners and guests. But the most worrying thing is still selling tickets. Sometimes it even haunts me in my dreams" - Minh Thu said.

Meritorious Artist Minh Thu, born in 1978 in Hanoi, sings mainly old and lyrical music with a warm, elegant voice.

Minh Thu won third prize at the Hanoi Television Singing Festival (1988), third prize at the Voice of Vietnam Radio (1999), first prize at the Hanoi Young Singing Festival (2011), gold medal at the ASEAN Countries Festival (2013), gold medal at the National Professional Festival (2015), gold medal at the ASEAN Countries Festival (2022).

In 2019, Minh Thu was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
