The speech at the ceremony, delivered by Major General Pham Hai Trung, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command, reviewed the unit's tradition: After President Ho Chi Minh passed away, compatriots and soldiers across the country missed him immensely, and international friends also shared his deep grief. In accordance with the earnest wishes of the entire Party, people and army, on November 29, 1969, the Politburo decided to carry out the task of preserving President Ho Chi Minh's body for a long time and building his Mausoleum. That sacred task and great responsibility was assigned by the Party and State to the Army, directly by the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command (now the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command).

On August 29, 1975, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was inaugurated and the first ceremony to pay respect to Uncle Ho was held. From then on, August 29 became the traditional day of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command.

After 56 years of preserving Uncle Ho's body, 50 years of managing and operating the Mausoleum and welcoming compatriots and international visitors to visit Uncle Ho, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command has excellently completed the special political mission entrusted to it by the Party, State, Army and people.

With its outstanding achievements, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command has been awarded many noble prizes by the Party, the State and the Ministry of National Defense. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its tradition, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed a decision to award the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien acknowledged, highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements, growth and development of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command over the past 50 years.

To continue to maintain and promote tradition and successfully complete the special political mission, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien requested the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command to regularly thoroughly grasp the Party's political and military guidelines, military and defense tasks, and perform well the task of long-term preservation and absolute safety protection of President Ho Chi Minh's body.

Cadres, employees, soldiers and workers in the unit promote tradition, raise awareness of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, promote internal strength, promote the application of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in performing tasks, focusing on the medical task of preserving Uncle Ho's body, ensuring caution, accuracy and absolute safety. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien requested the unit to best perform the task of managing, operating, and effectively exploiting the technical equipment system of the Mausoleum. Promote breakthroughs, improve the quality of training, combat readiness, ensure security, rituals, professionalism in performing tasks of officers, employees, soldiers, and workers, and closely coordinate with other forces to improve the quality and effectiveness of reception, propaganda, attentive service, and safety for people and international visitors to visit Uncle Ho, commemorate heroic martyrs, and participate in political and cultural activities at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and K9 Relics.

Art program to celebrate the anniversary.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command focuses on preparing and serving carefully and safely the activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, especially the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the visit to Uncle Ho, and the commemoration of the heroic martyrs of the delegation attending the 11th National Emulation Congress, the 12th Military Party Congress, and the 14th National Party Congress.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command.
