This morning (September 17), MC Thao Van, musician Nguyen Van Chung, singer Duyen Quynh, and actress Phuong Nam arrived at Nguyen Sieu school very early to attend an exchange program with students.
In particular, guests and students listened to Colonel, People's Teacher Nguyen Trong Vinh, a historical witness who directly fought on the fiery Quang Tri battlefield in the past, and guest artists convey stories of history and peace through many cultural and artistic activities.

The program is part of a series of September themed activities and interdisciplinary experiences in Literature - Social Sciences of the school, aiming to build in students an attitude of respect for history, gratitude for the past, a profound view of war, foster patriotism, and awaken the sense of responsibility of each individual to the country.
In the Talkshow with the theme "Continuing today's proud story", Colonel Nguyen Trong Vinh said that when he joined the battlefield when he was not yet 30 years old and until now, when his hair has turned white, he still cannot forget the soldiers and comrades who fought and sacrificed heroically.

As a member of the engineering force participating in the battlefield, he and his fellow soldiers were tasked with building roads for vehicles to pass through, facing countless difficulties and hardships, but everyone was determined to "do it at all costs".
The stories and memories of the hardships and heroic years of the past moved students to tears.
"Up to now, I still cannot forget the image of my comrades who were killed by bombs and bullets. We suppressed our grief, buried them in the forest edge and carefully handed over the grave map to the Quang Tri provincial military command. However, just after finishing the work the previous afternoon, the next morning when we checked, bombs and bullets had destroyed the area, and our comrades' graves were no longer there. Up to now, my family only knows that they died on the battlefield but there is nothing left to find. That is what always makes me ache and miss my fallen comrades," Mr. Vinh emotionally recounted.
Colonel Vinh believes that the story he tells is only a very small part of the fierce battlefield of the past. He hopes that today's generation of students will study well, foster love for their homeland and country, and learn to rise up.
Lessons are more valuable than books
Also during the exchange, actor Phuong Nam, who plays the character Ta in the movie Red Rain, which has been a hit in recent days, shared that the emotion that helped him fully transform into the character was that his family also had a grandfather who volunteered to go to the battlefield when he already had a wife and children at home.
The actor's grandfather joined the army in 1967 and died in 1968, but his remains have not been found to bring back to his family. While filming, he thought to himself that his grandfather would still be here somewhere watching, so he tried his best. He was very happy and pleased when the film was released and received by young people, who understood and were proud of the nation's history and appreciated the peace of the country today.

Under the guidance of host Thao Van, the guests and students had an interesting “lesson”. Through the situations in the film, the children understood more about history.
Thuy Anh, a student of the school, said that before, the school took her to see the movie Red Rain. She was moved, shed tears many times and understood more about the cruelty of war. Today, listening to a historical figure himself recount the story of the battlefield, the battles, the heroic and tragic years will be a more valuable lesson than books.

Lessons from the heart
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School, said that before that, the school had organized for students from grades 8 to 12 to watch the movie Red Rain to understand history. After watching the movie, students wrote a report and teachers were very surprised and touched when students wrote very good sharing lines.

Hoang Minh, 12AL1 wrote verses like: "Amidst the smoke and fire, the steel chest still stands tall/ The cheers of the army drown out the falling bullets and rain/ Feet step firmly, the soul blends with the motherland/ Blood and bones fall to preserve the race".

The students examined war from many perspectives and realized the values of life that history had to pay with blood to obtain.
Also according to Ms. Thuy, recently, the Ministry of Education and Training has instructed to invite experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in educational activities in general schools.
"From the teacher's perspective, this is a form of teaching that "unleashes" creativity; and for students, this way of learning brings excitement and reduces pressure. Practical experiences help children remember longer, while also inspiring the spirit of self-discovery and exploration," said Ms. Thuy.
Through an activity of letting students watch movies and write reports, she noticed the maturity in the students’ thinking. They learned literature and history, but not through words or numbers, but through emotional experiences to understand that history is the blood and tears of the whole nation. And literature and art are the way to make that history come alive in the throbbing of each person’s heart.
Ms. Thuy said that the school will continue to implement many creative and meaningful educational programs like this to enrich the knowledge and nurture the soul of each student.
