Newton school children follow in his footsteps

GD&TĐ - On August 10, in Hue City, the Award Ceremony of the Final Round of the 31st National Youth Informatics Competition was solemnly held.

The Young Informatics Contest is a major annual competition organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , aiming to search for and honor young talents in technology and IT programming across the country.

After going through very intense selection rounds, from the district level (old), provincial/city level to the regional round, the 2025 Youth Informatics Contest officially selected the best students to compete in the National Final round: 30 students for group A (Primary); 30 students for group B (Middle); 24 students for group C1 (Specialized High School); 18 students for group C2 (Non-specialized High School).

Participating in this year's final round, Newton School is the school with the most students passing the most rounds and entering the competition in the Northern region in 2 groups A and B with 4 students in group A; 3 students in group B and 1 student in group C (secondary school takes the exam to advance a level).

At the final round award ceremony, Newton students made a special mark by winning all 8/8 awards – an absolutely proud achievement. Notably, in Group A and Group B, each group only had 1 First Prize and both of those championships belonged to Newton students.

Do Gia Bao – 9G0: Third Prize Group C (advance level)

Nguyen Nhat Minh – 5G0: Third Prize Group A

Bui Nam Khanh – 9G0: Third Prize Group B

Dang Hai Long – 9G0: Encouragement Prize Group B

With 2 First prizes (out of a total of 4 First prizes in 4 categories); 2 Second prizes; 3 Third prizes and 1 Encouragement prize - those are the telling numbers proving the excellent abilities of Newton School students at this year's competition.

Previously, Newton School was filled with joy and pride when student Nguyen Bui Duc Dung - a former student who studied at Newton School from grade 1 to grade 9, excellently won the Gold Medal at the 2025 Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad; Silver Medal at the 2025 International Informatics Olympiad IOI.

During his years at Newton School, student Nguyen Bui Duc Dung also achieved excellent results in IT competitions such as: Top prize in the Hanoi City-level IT competition for excellent students (above grade); First prize in the national IT competition for young students. The children at Newton School always admire and strive to be like Nguyen Bui Duc Dung.

The achievements at this year's National Youth Informatics Competition are the inheritance and promotion of the tradition of training in Information Technology for many years at Newton School, and also promise breakthrough achievements in the future of talented students who have been shining at prestigious competitions like today.

The school believes that, with the passion for technology and determination of the students, and the dedication of the teachers, the NGSers will continue to reap more success in major tournaments, contributing to bringing Newton's name far and wide in intellectual playgrounds at home and abroad.
