Người Lao ĐộngNgười Lao Động07/12/2024

The National Competition Commission ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) said that in the first 9 months of 2024, the commission received 683 complaints related to e-commerce.

Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Official Dispatch No. 119 requesting relevant ministries, branches and localities to continue to promote state management of e-commerce.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security will preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to promote the implementation of electronic authentication services for e-commerce platforms. The goal is to ensure that participating organizations, businesses and individuals are authenticated when participating in the supply and exchange of goods on e-commerce platforms, avoiding tax losses and fraudulent acts.

Organizations, businesses and individuals participating in online trading must have their identities verified.

The National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that in the first 9 months of 2024, the commission received 683 complaints related to e-commerce. These complaints are on the rise significantly.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang, Director of the Northern Branch of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, cited the fact that the company has not sold its products on e-commerce platforms, but counterfeit products have been caught selling online. To prevent counterfeit goods on e-commerce platforms, Mr. Thang said that authenticating the identity of online sellers is a necessary measure.

Mr. Nguyen Binh Minh, Head of the Resource Development Department of the Vietnam E-commerce Association, also said that it is necessary to identify sellers to trace the origin and clarify responsibility. Agreeing with this proposal, a representative of the Vietnam E-commerce Association said that currently, many online sellers use fake accounts and identities, open many online stores, and split orders to evade taxes; not to mention, many people who livestream sales with "huge" sales still do not have to pay taxes. Identifying online sellers will help improve the effectiveness of state management of e-commerce.

Ms. Lai Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), affirmed that in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will request additional regulations on authenticating individual seller accounts and providing information on websites and applications providing e-commerce services. In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed decentralization and delegation of authority in state management of e-commerce to localities in managing, monitoring and resolving online disputes in e-commerce activities.

Regarding verifying the identity of buyers to avoid revealing personal information, the National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that the use of technology, specifically AI applications, can detect and prevent fraudulent acts, as well as help secure user information in e-commerce transactions.

AI can also help detect counterfeits by analyzing and comparing product images, descriptions, and prices with data from genuine goods. This process helps protect brands and consumers from counterfeits and fakes.
