Tensioning the last cable-stayed bridge of My Thuan 2

(ABO) On September 15, Mr. Hoang Dinh De, Deputy Director of the Executive Board of the XL03B package consortium (Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company and Trung Chinh Construction and Trading Company Limited) - My Thuan 2 Bridge Project, said that the consortium is constructing the tensioning of the last cable bundle of the Project.

The last cable-stayed bridge at My Thuan 2 was stretched on the morning of September 15.

At the My Thuan 2 bridge construction site on the morning of September 15, a large number of personnel and materials were mobilized to carry out the final cable tensioning of the project.

Engineers and workers proceed to stretch the final cable stay.

According to Mr. De, this construction moment was wonderful. Cable bundle 128 that the joint contractor constructed was the most difficult cable bundle, with the largest number of cables, the longest length, and the greatest tension.

The joint venture contractor took advantage of favorable weather, ensured conditions, and focused 100% of human and material resources so that construction could continue and ensure the set progress.

Prestressed stay cables are arranged at 2 pillars T15, T16, each pillar has 64 cables. All equipment and technology are imported, tested, and quality assured.

To achieve this, experts, officers, engineers and workers of the contractors worked very hard.

Mr. De said: “After finishing tensioning the cables of the last bundle, the two contractors, Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company and Trung Chinh Construction and Trading Company Limited, will speed up the work of carving the steel bars to construct the last two girder segments.

Once qualified, the contractors will carry out the joint venture. All contractors in the joint venture strive to ensure the progress and quality of the project.

According to Project Management Board 7 - Ministry of Transport , up to now, the total construction output of My Thuan 2 Bridge Project has reached about 93% of the contract value.

My Thuan 2 Bridge is sprinting to the finish line.

It is expected that in mid-October 2023, My Thuan 2 Bridge will close the main span. Contractors strive to complete the My Thuan 2 Bridge Project by the end of 2023.

My Thuan 2 Bridge Project started construction in February 2020, with a total length of 6.61 km. The starting point of the project connects to Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway Project, the end point connects to My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway.

The main bridge is about 1.9 km long, designed with 6 lanes and a designed speed of 80 km/h. My Thuan 2 Bridge has a total investment of about 5,000 billion VND.
