(HNMO) - On the afternoon of May 9, Hanoi City Police confirmed that they, together with the National Children's Hospital, are investigating to clarify the origin of a new drug called "Flying Chocolate".

Specifically, the National Children's Hospital has just successfully treated three children in a boarding house in Hanoi who ate the same type of chocolate cake given by a neighbor and showed signs of poisoning. Through analysis, the cake contained addictive substances, and the National Children's Hospital has invited the City Police to investigate.

"Flying chocolate" and drugs disguised as food.

Initial investigation results, the incident occurred when 1 of the 3 children was given chocolate cake by a neighbor to bring home from work. This child shared it with 2 other children in the same boarding house, leading to the above incident. The police took samples of the cake for testing, the result was that the cake eaten by the 3 children contained a new type of drug, also known as "flying chocolate".

Before the above incident, the police and the National Children's Hospital warned that addictive substances disguised as food such as candy, chocolate candy, mango candy, marijuana-infused lollipops, cookies... are appearing commonly.

To prevent this, parents and schools need to pay special attention and be vigilant with social networks such as Facebook, websites, TikTok, etc. that are openly selling chocolate drugs. Authorities recommend that ADB-Buticana and its derivatives in “flying chocolate” belong to the group of synthetic cannabis and are considered narcotics, with serial numbers from 179 to 184 in List II C, Decree No. 73/2018/ND-CP of the Prime Minister regulating narcotics and precursors. These substances are banned in most countries in the world .

Parents, schools, departments, sectors and organizations need to propagate to keep children away from harmful information on social networks, enticements to use strange foods, electronic cigarettes, etc.
