Speaking at the conference, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command Le Van Tu emphasized: In recent years, the good organization of the activities "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands", opening and maintaining the posting of a special page, broadcasting the column "For sovereignty , security, safety of sea and islands" every month on the province's Newspaper and Radio and Television has contributed to creating a favorable environment for the locality to well implement the socio-economic development goals.

At the same time, maintain political security, order, social safety, ensure security and national defense; strengthen the close relationship between the Vietnam Coast Guard and local Party committees and authorities. At the same time, strengthen the solidarity between the army and the people; promote patriotism, love for the sea and islands, raise awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members, people, fishermen and students in the cause of building and protecting sovereignty, security and safety of the sea and islands, and build a solid "people's heart position" at sea.

In 2025, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command has developed a plan to organize activities "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" and organize the signing of joint programs to promote sea and island in Lam Dong province. This includes signing a joint program to promote sea and island in newspapers, online newspapers, digital platforms, social networks, and channels between the Coast Guard Region 3 Command and Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television.

One of the coordinated contents is to develop and organize printing on paper newspapers, posting on electronic newspapers, digital platforms, specialized social networks, and broadcasting periodic columns with specialized pages and columns: "For sovereignty, security, safety, sea, and islands".

The propaganda content focuses on the Party's guidelines and policies; the State's policies and laws on protecting sovereignty, developing the economy, culture and society, and ensuring security and safety of seas and islands; regulations of Vietnamese law and international law on preventing illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU); disseminating knowledge and skills on ensuring maritime safety and search and rescue at sea...

At the conference, the signing of the Program for coordination of propaganda and education activities on seas and islands and the organization of the "I love my homeland's seas and islands" Contest for the period 2024 - 2030 and the following years between the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 and the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province also took place. Participants are junior high school students in the province.

The purpose is to propagate, educate, equip knowledge, improve understanding, and foster love for the homeland for the young generation. Thereby, contributing to fostering awareness and responsibility for territorial sovereignty for the next generation to continue the revolutionary cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On the other hand, promoting the combined strength and attention of the political system, collectives and individuals towards the sea and islands of the Fatherland, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc in socio-economic development and consolidating national defense and security.

Immediately after the signing conference, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 organized a propaganda session to disseminate the law to about 300 fishermen who are fishing boat owners, vehicle owners, captains, and people participating in fishing activities in the area; and signed a commitment not to violate IUU.

At the propaganda session, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command coordinated to organize a number of social security activities, giving 40 gifts to policy families and fishermen in difficult circumstances in the area.

Immediately after the signing ceremony, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command coordinated with Thanh Hai Border Guard Station to organize legal propaganda and present many gifts to fishermen of Phu Thuy ward.

Colonel Cao Xuan Quan, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 3, propagated the law and encouraged fisherman Nguyen Van Thinh to stay at sea with peace of mind.

During the program, officers and soldiers disseminated and guided fishermen to master the legal regulations on seas and islands; especially regulations related to combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. At the same time, the delegation also provided advice on first aid skills in case of incidents at sea and instructions on ensuring safety during offshore fishing.

On this occasion, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 and Thanh Hai Border Guard Station presented national flags, life jackets, medical kits, and flashlights to fishermen; distributed propaganda leaflets and provided advice and answered questions related to fishing area boundaries, voyage monitoring equipment, and legal procedures in fishing activities.

Major Tran Duong Khanh, Political Commissar of Thanh Hai Border Guard Station, presented the national flag and medical bags to fishermen.

Through propaganda, fishermen also expressed their joy, committed to obeying the law, and determined to join hands with the whole country to remove the "yellow card" of the European Commission (EC).

Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, a fisherman on fishing boat BTh 95924 TS, shared: "With the guidance and legal propaganda from the officers, we feel more secure when going to sea and commit to strictly complying with regulations in seafood exploitation."

The program aims to raise legal awareness, care for people's lives, strengthen trust, and encourage fishermen to confidently go out to sea and stick to the sea. Thereby, strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, building a national defense posture associated with a people's security posture at sea, firmly protecting the sovereignty, security, order, and safety of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
