Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway officially put into operation from April 26

On April 24, a representative of Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway Joint Stock Company (Project Enterprise) said that Cam Lam-Vinh Hao Expressway will officially open the route and put it into operation to serve people traveling in both directions on the route starting from 7:00 a.m. on April 26 to serve people's travel needs during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

According to the traffic organization plan, vehicles not allowed on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway include vehicles carrying toxic, flammable substances, explosives; specialized motorbikes with a design speed of less than 60 km/h, tractors, motorbikes, motorbikes... The investor has also built a temporary rest stop on the expressway at km113, through Nhi Ha commune, Thuan Nam district to serve people and vehicles while waiting for the official station investment. It is known that from April 26 to May 1, vehicles traveling on the route will not be charged a fee, after which it is expected to collect fees from May 2, 2024.

From 7:00 a.m. on April 26, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway officially allows traffic on the route.

The expressway has an intelligent transportation system (ITS) and a synchronous operation management team for the entire route. In particular, the route has a special tunnel of 2.25 km in length, phase 1 uses a two-way traffic tunnel. The tunnel operation center includes a monitoring-control complex by ITS systems, playing an important role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic. Surveillance cameras installed along the route use AI technology to classify vehicles, recognize license plates, detect and warn of incidents and violations such as speeding, driving in the wrong lane, going in the wrong direction, etc. Images of vehicles are collected via cameras and transmitted to the operation center in real time to serve rescue, search and rescue, and handle violations.

At the meeting to inspect the acceptance of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway on April 20, the localities also requested the project to soon coordinate with the Traffic Police Department to issue fines via the ITS system to limit traffic violations. On April 20, 2024, the State Inspection Council for Construction Acceptance approved the acceptance results of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway project as qualified to be put into operation and use.
