Road 9 Club has made important contributions to the development of Quang Tri province.

This afternoon, October 8, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province organized an intimate meeting with the Road 9 Club. Over the past 35 years, the Road 9 Club has been a gathering place for retired leaders in Dong Ha City. Since its establishment, the Club has held 6 congresses; those elected to hold the positions of chairman and vice chairman are all former provincial leaders and retired officials of various periods, with prestige and the ability to gather members in the Club.

The members of the Executive Committee and members always consider the Club as a common home to participate in activities, contributing to the development of the province and city. With the achievements over the past 35 years, the Club has been awarded many certificates of merit and emulation flags by the Government , Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung reported on a number of outstanding results in implementing the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress. With the great efforts and determination of the Party Committee, government and people in the whole province, many key socio-economic targets have been implemented on schedule, and it is forecasted that by the end of the term, 11/15 targets will be able to achieve and exceed the plan.

Up to this point, the province's GRDP per capita has reached 71 million VND; the economic growth rate has reached a relatively good rate in the context of economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic (2021: 6.5%, 2022: 7.17%, 2023: 6.68%, 9 months of 2024: 5.82%); the rate of communes meeting new rural standards is 74.3%; the agricultural economic structure accounts for 19.02%, non-agricultural 80.98%. Key programs and key tasks according to the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress have achieved many positive results.

With the viewpoint of prioritizing the synchronization of infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, creating a breakthrough driving force for Quang Tri to develop rapidly and sustainably, the province has focused on leadership and direction; taking advantage of the support and assistance of the central government, the cooperation and companionship of investors, the participation of the entire political system to resolve difficulties and obstacles, complete procedures to start construction, and implement key and dynamic projects and works: My Thuy Port Area; Quang Tri Industrial Park; Hai Lang LNG project; Construction of a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam... Has focused on investing in basic infrastructure for 2 economic zones, 5 industrial parks and 17 industrial clusters to attract investment...

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized: Since the early days of the province's re-establishment and through 7 Provincial Party Congresses, Quang Tri province has had remarkable development with comprehensive, outstanding, and very proud achievements. The strong transformation of the province has been integrated into the development of the country.

These proud achievements are the efforts of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the whole province, including the contribution of the Road 9 Club. On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung acknowledged and hoped that the Road 9 Club would continue to join hands with the Party Committee and the government to build the province to develop more and more.
