After round 8 of V.League 2025-2026, Ninh Binh club continues to maintain the top position. With an unbeaten record since the beginning of the season, this team has many advantages as the championship race is gradually taking shape.

Despite playing away at PVF Stadium, Ninh Binh Club was confident and won 3-1 against PVF-CAND. In addition, the fact that their pursuer, The Cong Viettel, unexpectedly lost to Hoang Anh Gia Lai helped Ninh Binh gain an advantage. Coach Gerard Albadalejo and his team have been in high and stable form in the recent journey with an undefeated record, surpassing a series of other veteran candidates to take the top spot in the rankings.

After the victory over PVF-CAND, coach Gerard Albadalejo said: “We knew it would be a very difficult match. After beating Hanoi FC, we had to face a team that had never lost at home, with many promising young Vietnamese players and experienced foreign players. We understood that the challenge was big, but we were happy that once again, the team scored 3 goals away and continued to win. After 8 rounds, or almost a third of the season, we can say that we are on the right track and need to continue like that.”

In the 8th round, Ninh Binh's rival team, The Cong Viettel, was unexpectedly defeated by Hoang Anh Gia Lai. This helped Ninh Binh's top position become more solid as it created a gap with the competing teams.

Also through this round, the V.League championship race is gradually taking shape. In particular, Ninh Binh is the most dominant name when firmly holding the top position with an unbeaten streak (6 wins, 2 draws). Looking at the remaining candidates, it can be seen that The Cong Viettel, Cong An Ha Noi, Cong An Ho Chi Minh City are the direct opponents. This is a season in which Ha Noi FC and Nam Dinh are not having a good start. Both have had to change coaches due to poor results since the beginning of the season.

Ninh Binh's problem is to maintain stability for the long-distance race this season. They have depth in their squad, not only experienced stars but also young players who have left their mark. In the latest match against PVF-CAND, overseas Vietnamese player Tran Thanh Trung received praise from the coach for his first time in the starting lineup.

Coach Gerard Albadalejo said: “Tran Thanh Trung has great potential to play at a high level for many years to come in the V.League. But like his 29 other teammates, we always have the utmost respect for all of them. The whole team needs to continue working hard to improve. I believe in the young players. Of course, they still have to learn and improve, but if they are not given the opportunity, they will not be able to mature. In football, mistakes are part of the development process. Although being a rookie team of V.League, Ninh Binh is showing ambition to win the championship this season. Right when preparing to enter the tournament, the team recruited a series of star players from its opponents: Duc Chien (The Cong Viettel), Chau Ngoc Quang, Dung Quang Nho, Bao Toan (Hoang Anh Gia Lai). Ninh Binh also signed 3 foreign players: Gustavo Henrique, Alfredo Pedraza and Víctor Morales.

Vietnam women's team trains before training trip to Japan

Entering the second training week of the third training session in 2025, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnamese women's team under the leadership of head coach Mai Duc Chung is maintaining physical training combined with techniques and tactics, to best prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said that the national women's team is expected to have two friendly matches with the Ho Chi Minh City women's team (currently training at the Center to prepare for the 2025-2026 Asian Women's Club Championship) on November 1 and November 4.

The weather in Hanoi in late October is quite favorable for training with the average temperature around 20 degrees Celsius, helping the players maintain good physical condition and high spirits in each training session.

Defender Tran Thi Thu said: “The training volume is higher than the previous session, so the physical strength and technique of the whole team have positive changes. Every day we have new and very exciting exercises.”

Coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized that the team is in a difficult group so the whole team must prepare carefully for the upcoming SEA Games. The young players are adapting well, and opportunities are shared equally among all. Anyone who tries their best can be selected to compete.

Meanwhile, young midfielder Ngoc Minh Chuyen shared: “I am 21 years old this year, and I still need to learn more from my seniors. In the national team, we are trained in physical strength, technique, and tactics very carefully.”

Coach Mai Duc Chung always emphasizes that Southeast Asian players need to focus on physical fitness and practice diligently to go further. I will try to adapt better to the intensity of professional competition to be able to contribute to the team in the future.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will have a training trip in Japan from November 20 to November 30. Before leaving, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are expected to have 1-2 more practice matches to continue to improve.
