Nvidia CEO says AI will surpass all human tests in 5 years

At an economic forum at Stanford University (USA) on artificial intelligence (AI) on March 1, General Director Jensen Huang of Nvidia, the world's leading AI chip manufacturer, made predictions about the prospect of creating a computer system that can think like a human.

When asked how long it would take to achieve that goal, the billionaire said the answer largely depends on how the goal is defined, according to Reuters. "If I give AI every test you can imagine, you make a list of tests and you put it in computer science, then my guess is in five years, [AI] will do well," Huang said.

So far, AI can complete legal exams but still has difficulty with specialized medical exams. However, Mr. Huang predicts that in five years, AGI will be able to overcome those challenges.

Still, the billionaire remains cautious about the prospect of AGI, as scientists disagree on how to define it and describe how human thinking works. “It’s hard to be an engineer because engineers need specific goals,” Huang said.

Regarding the expansion of the AI ​​industry, Mr. Jensen Huang said that there is a need for more chip foundries, but with the development of chips over time, the number of chips needed to be manufactured may be limited.
