Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Ngoc Nghi has just signed and issued Document No. 10629/UBND-TH, on terminating the investment project of Tan Phat Dak Lak Granite Stone Processing Factory (referred to as the project) of Tan Phat Dak Lak Company Limited at Cu Kuin Industrial Park.
Accordingly, it is agreed to terminate the operation of the investment project of Tan Phat Dak Lak Granite Stone Processing Factory at the land plots CNs1-01 to CNs1-12 (12 plots), Cu Kuin Industrial Cluster according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 48 of the Investment Law.

Previously, the Department of Planning and Investment had sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee on the termination of the above project. Accordingly, the project was granted by the Provincial People's Committee Decision No. 2967/QD-UBND dated October 11, 2019 approving the investment policy and simultaneously approving the investor; Decision No. 3435/QD-UBND dated December 8, 2021 approving the adjustment of investment policy.
According to the notice of termination of investment project activities dated October 9, 2023 and Decision No. 03/2023/QD-CSH dated October 6, 2023 of Tan Phat Dak Lak Company Limited, the Investor determined to terminate the project activities from October 12, 2023. The reason for termination of activities was due to the fact that the National planning on exploitation and processing of construction materials for the period 2020 - 2030 and vision to 2050 has not been approved (including the Granite quarry for cladding in village 6, Hoa Son commune, Krong Bong district, Dak Lak province). In addition, the world economic recession and the COVID-19 pandemic occurred during the project implementation, so this company could not implement it according to the prescribed schedule.
At the working session with Cu Kuin district in August 2022, after recording the opinions and recommendations of Cu Kuin district on the current status of operations of Cu Kuin Industrial Cluster, Central Party Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung assigned the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to lead the Provincial People's Committee to establish an inter-sectoral working group with members from relevant departments, branches and localities to inspect and evaluate the effectiveness as well as compliance with the law of enterprises that have registered and implemented projects in the Industrial Cluster, and report the results to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for consideration and direction. The inspection and evaluation of effectiveness is based on the spirit that enterprises facing difficulties due to objective reasons and mechanisms will be supported, while enterprises that do not carry out operations or have many serious violations in their operations will have their licenses revoked.
Regarding the activities of investment projects in Cu Kuin Industrial Park, Dak Lak Newspaper published a series of articles "Waste of land resources: Viewed from Cu Kuin Industrial Park". reflecting on the fact that Cu Kuin Industrial Park has been operating at a standstill for over 10 years, many projects have fallen into a state of "inaction", causing waste of land resources. Along with many projects being slow in progress, slow in implementation, or even "suspended" for many years, it has greatly affected the sustainable development of the locality.
