Correcting contractors who construct sidewalks carelessly after being reported by Giao Thong Newspaper

Following the reflection of Giao Thong Newspaper, the contractor of the project to renovate sidewalks, traffic and drainage systems in Song Phuong commune installed fences and markers to ensure traffic safety.

On November 18, Giao Thong Newspaper published an article " Hanoi : Sidewalk renovation project is poorly constructed, posing a risk to traffic safety" reflecting on the fact that the construction process of the sidewalk renovation project, traffic and drainage system (referred to as the project) in the new residential area in Song Phuong commune, Dan Phuong district, Hanoi city has some shortcomings.

Specifically, the project was poorly constructed and in disarray; some sections of the road were peeling off as soon as they were completed; the construction unit did not install signs, barriers, markers, and reflective tape to warn of traffic safety according to regulations...

After the reflection of Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Van Hung, Director of Quang Cuong Construction Company Limited, the project contractor, went directly to the construction area to remind workers to place signs in the construction area, stretch reflective ropes and warn about where to place materials.

During construction, the company assigned people to regulate traffic in narrow, densely populated areas and strictly implemented regulations to prevent pollution.

At completed construction sites, forces were dispatched to clean up spilled materials and spray water to clean the roads to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation.

According to the reporter, the placement of full warning signs and the arrangement of traffic controllers in the construction area helps ensure that people can pass through the route safely and without dust affecting people living on both sides of the road during the past time.

Talking to Giao Thong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Hung said that the reason for the phenomenon of sidewalks cracking and paving stones falling off the road surface structure is due to people's habit of parking their vehicles on the sidewalk and heavy trucks running over, causing the structure to fall apart.

"People still park their cars on the newly paved sidewalks, causing the bricks to break. In addition, heavy trucks traveling on the road also affect the sidewalk structure and materials on some sections that have been constructed. Currently, the unit has reminded people and the unit must spend its own money to fix it," Mr. Hung affirmed.
