On the evening of April 21, the Binh Thanh District Area Team, Ho Chi Minh City Police organized a crime scene investigation to clarify the cause of the fire at a 3-story house in alley 1, Dang Thuy Tram Street, Ward 13, Binh Thanh District, which caused the death of a 92-year-old man.
A fire broke out at a 3-story house on Dang Thuy Tram Street, causing a 92-year-old man to die from smoke inhalation.
According to initial information, at around 2:30 p.m., the fire broke out on the ground floor of a 3-story house in alley number 1. At that time, the people in the house had locked the door outside to go to work, leaving only the 92-year-old man in a wheelchair at home.
Black smoke seeped from the ground floor to the upper floors, engulfing the entire house. When people discovered the fire, they broke the glass doors and used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire, but because the house had many layers of doors, they could not get in.
Fire trucks arrived at the scene in time to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.
The Binh Thanh District Fire Prevention and Fighting Team sent vehicles and officers to the scene to break the iron door to approach the fire location and extinguish the fire.
The rescue team inspected the scene and discovered an old man in a wheelchair died of smoke inhalation. Many properties stored on the first floor of the house were burned and damaged.
