At around 4am on December 5th, residents living on Tran Hung Dao Street heard an explosion and then discovered fire and smoke coming from a 4-storey house that was used as a restaurant. The fire broke out high up, so although residents discovered it, they were unable to approach and put it out.

The fire broke out near the headquarters of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, so the Department quickly mobilized vehicles and officers to the scene to put out the fire.

Ladder truck approached the scene to take trapped victims out and transfer them to the hospital.

The ladder truck was deployed to put out the fire. Rescue teams entered the restaurant to search for people trapped in the fire.

According to initial assessment, there were 5-7 people trapped inside, so the working groups searched each room and brought out many people in a state of smoke inhalation, including a young boy. All victims were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
